Bibolar disorder, medicine and shrooms
    #25488059 -

Hi, a close friend have bipolar disorder and migraine and want to test shrooms to see if that helps for depression. Its microdosing, and maybe a trip if its safe to try. He use this medicine. I cant find any thing about psilocybin that would make anything go wrong. But does anyone have any experience or other information ?

Lamictal (lamotrigine)
venlafaxine
Wellbutrin (bupropion)
Atarax (hydroxyzine)
Metoprolol

James Fadiman says he only recommends individuals on Lithium Carbonate not microdose.
I am not a doctor though and I don't believe Fadiman is either, I would surely feel it out on an individual basis from the lowest point on the scale.

Some people will go violently psychotic on shrooms. It's very rare but it depends on the person. Might wanna get them used to it before going for a higher dose, though everyone I know with bipolar finds shrooms to be beneficial.

Gymnopilus species have an added anti-depressant and stabilizing effect because they contain psilocybin and psilocin but also kavalactone type compounds. But everyone is different.

I feel like most people who are on prescription drugs for something like bipolar, especially more than one drug, are lost, dead people. Lost and never to return to the land of the living. It boggles my mind that so many people fall for that crap. People existed for thousands of years without those drugs and aside from extreme cases of schizophrenia, didn't have too much interference with their functionality as human beings. The drug companies love you though.
