 Help me find a country to go to school

I have a need for a formal education, travel, and business.
I feel like they don't really go hand in hand, so I plan on traveling to another country to go to school, that will handle two birds with one stone as well as make education cheaper, as the U.S. has a shit "higher" education.
I was thinking somewhere in Europe. Any suggestions?

Depends on what you want to study, how much money you want to spend on housing, food etc., if you want to go where English is first or second language...
Many if not most countries in Europe have free higher education, even for foreign students. And you'd probably get much cheaper housing if you're from abroad.

That's what I was thinking too. I want to go for ecology focussed on mycology. I'll likely take a few business classes as well as animal behavior

That's exactly what I'm planing for my graduate studies.
Well, my advice would be pick a country that you find most interesting. Austria has some good colleges, Germany of course, Czech, they all have English language courses and a high percent of the population speaks English. Britain or Ireland if you don't want to be in a "foreign" speaking country. I'm not sure what's the process for US students outside of the "ECTS" program, but you should be able to enter in an undergraduate course anywhere.

Germany is probably best bet. Good economy, considered to be the leader of the free world now, free education. Brutal education though, very sink-or-swim.
I'd disagree with OP's contention that the US has "shit" higher education, though. US colleges are still considered to be the best in the world with the highest standards, and US diplomas still carry that "wow, American!" status. For now.

I meant more from a realistic fainancial standpoint. It's probably much cheaper to move to Germany for an education and real world experience than do it from home

Come to Australia! You'll learn things such as; how to drink alcohol at 18, how an avocado costs more than a house and how to spend most of your day in traffic! (If you pick the city)

Is this undergrad or grad study?
I've found variation in the US Education system if you are grad vs. undergrad, STEM vs non-STEM, etc.

Do they? Are you sure? I guess if someone told me they'd got a degree from Harvard I'd be impressed...I've also heard of one called Yale? Stanford? That's all I can think of, although if you gave me a list I might have heard of more. For the majority of jobs though, I don't think it really matters.
If you want to do a mixture of subjects, the UK will not fulfil your brief. We narrow down our subjects very early, usually studying 3 subjects for the last two years of high school and one subject at university, although you can study two subjects at university in a 'Joint Honours' arrangement between schools sometimes. I was able to do 3 subjects in my first year, but that was only my university and only in the humanities and social science departments. I then had to narrow down to one subject for the remaining two years.
I'm not sure about elsewhere in Europe. Sometimes they have free tuition for other students from EU countries but I think usually US students have to pay some level of fee.
Good luck  I wish I had opted to do a year abroad as part of my degree, big regret not doing that as those I know who did had a brilliant time

A degree from an accredited US institution certainly isn't looked down upon. It'll viewed equally and/or above those obtained elsewhere. However, at the undergraduate level, the name and prestige of the degree only matters in specific areas of study and/or if you attend a top tier school.
For graduate studies, yes. The US will generally provide better education and opportunity.

As I'm sure you've guessed, it depends on the degree and the field. For example, many science-based PhDs in the US are paid. The graduate student gets paid to do research and work for the supervisor, and in return they get a PhD.

That really depends on the degree and the institution it was received from. The one thing the US academic system is known for abroad is its variability in terms of quality.

Hmmm. Fuck that. I can get what i want for cheaper outside of the us.
My plan is to travel around Europe for 6 months. And then find an appropriate school

I would consider staying Stateside. Move to Georgia and work for a year. Then apply to University of Georgia which has a fantastic Ag program. Once you are an instate student you can apply for the Hope Scholarship and/or the Zell Miller(Governors) Scholarship. The Governors scholarship will cover tuition, books, and room/board at 100% as long as you maintain a 3.3 GPA.

Do you already live in the USA? The only reason I would mostly say the USA instead of Europe is because of how hard it is to learn the second language and doing all your work in a second language sounds hard.
