yes, but wouldn't creatine as well since it aids with muscle development? obviously not nearly as much as a pro hormone would just doing day to day tasks. must sleeeeep, for um my muscles aha

liloldme said: "it isn't a magic supplement that you can take to increase muscle mass without lifting, it just enables you to lift more, acceleration the progression of muscle growth." I feel this logic can be applied to even steroid use. Testosterone is naturally produced in your body as well, and aids in the growth of muscle development :/
It is a bit different. Creatine is just a cofactor in an energy producing reaction. Test is a hormone that changes metabolism at the cellular level, specifically it is anabolic for muscle and catabolic for fat. So test can dictate the rate of creatine use by controlling the transcription rate of the enzymes that catalyze the creatine+adp->at reaction. But creatine supplementation just makes available one of the elements, the rate of its use s determined only by how much you use this energy system. Taking test will increase your baseline level of muscle within a surprisingly narrow range, and muscle gains from training happen in proportion (as a percent) of the already existing muscle. So 1% of 20lbs is more than 1% of 15lbs, meaning the gross rate of muscle gain will be higher. The difference between test and creatine is that test supplementation can shut down your body's ability to produce test naturally. But all evidence indicates that when creatine supplementation stops the body just picks up its synthesis immediately where you left off. It'll never make as much as 5g in a day though

You almost never see strong people under 12%bf or so unless they take test. You can get equally as strong naturally given enough training but it's almost impossible to be that strong and lean with test supplementation

You don't need to take test. Take some zinc and melatonin at night and magnesium throughout the day and exercise a lot and your test and gh levels will go up naturally. Remember that high test levels are correlated with higher rates of chronic fatal diseases like cancer so it's better to just work hard and look decent with average or or even below average levels than to tinker around with your endocrine system

Not nearly as much as if you do exercise obviously. But if you think about the musculature differences between sedentary men and sedentary women, it's androgenic hormones that presumably are making the difference.

They probably have more of an effect on the bones if you aren’t using muscle.

What differences do you mean? Just in sedentary muscle mass and composition?
If so I feel that could be hardware more than the runtime effects of hormones.

Just the general trend of men being more muscular than women.

But aren't the "hardware" differences from sex hormones in the first place?

I always thought it was my Y chromosome but I guess everything needs it's own kind of paint or something too when the machinery itself is assembled

St1llnox, not all Y chromosomes are equal. Otherwise all men would be equally masculine. There are genetic differences that result in variations in hormones (sex and otherwise) and things like baseline body composition are the result. You can fail to realize your genetic potential through malnourishment

Oooh a brain bonus to looking good... thanks for the motivating tip!
On a serious note tho thanks very much for encouraging me . I was not kidding about digging out of the pudge-prison I built.
Other people, you should post before/progress pics too. Yeah its embarrassing being seen out of shape so you don't want to post it but think about this: by posting it, you're committing to yourself that that is not you and that every day after that is a day you will spend being less and less like that.
And in a few weeks you'll be super sexy and won't be embarrassed by the pics anymore. You'll be proud.

I think there are also a bunch of genes located elsewhere that get turned on or off based on whether or not the "Y" is present. The Y chromosome is very small and apparently only contains a few dozen genes.

We are talking about the hormones. The Y chromosome doesn’t directly make you a male. It does it by making gonads that pump you with male hormones. Male hormones will completely masculinize a female. Some of the structural changes caused by male hormones like a deep voice, heavier bone structure, fat distribution are not reversible.
