Today isn't a work out day. Today is a cocaine day. I find a great part of any cardio regime is a nice stimulant bender. It releases your heart from the rest of the cardiovascular system in terms of stress response. Allows your heart to respond to stress with no physical stimuli, something that is abundant in today society.

Betaine and Arginine are the most effective pre-workout. BCAAs only work on an empty stomach. Check out my supplement post.

are you saying that the body cannot absorb certain essential amino acids in the presence of other food...? that doesn't make a whole of sense considering the fact that the BCAAs always occur in nature... with other food.

what benefits does arginine offer for pre workout that are superior to those of agmatine?

From the research I've found BCAAs aren't very effective either way. Arginine is converted to agmatine in the body. I just go by cost vs. effectiveness. From what I can tell, the most important supplement to take is high dose Omega-3s and CLA, there are more than enough aminos in protein shakes.

Thank you all. I just ordered
"OPTIMUM NUTRITION Instantized BCAA Branched Chain Essential Amino Acids Capsules, 1000mg, 400 Count"

So, I just skimmed the benefits and basically it states that it's good for energy and muscle growth.

I use oral B-12 (3000mcg's) daily for work out energy. Should I cut that out once I start a BCAA regimen?

CBD isolate is amazing!

Woke up with my shoulders incredibly sore today. Overworked.
Couple dabs and immediate recovery.

I just want to recommend Kratom in place of caffeine for pre-workout. Probably better for your heart and I'm sure it works better.

For perceptible effects CBD has never done very much for me. That's just me though.

I don't use either, but I would agree if it's a small kratom dose.

CBD never did anything for me until I started actually buying it 99.9% pure from medical dispensaries.
Most unregulated CBD products out there vary in strength so damn much. To the point where it has no effects. I've seen 500mg tinctures test at 20mg's. Just not worth it.

And keep in mind, a healthy dose of CBD to actually combat pain and aid in recovery is roughly half your body weight in milligrams (i.e. 160lb - 80mg's CBD)

Also so we're all clear... there is way more research demonstrating the efficacy of supplemental Creatine versus supplemental BCAAs... I suspect a lot of this BCAA stuff is hype. It's ironic if they market them for "energy" because that is literally the opposite of what you would want your body to do be doing with BCAAs. You want them to be converted into lean body mass. You primary energy source for exercise should be carbs.

BCAA use is basically useful for retaining muscle mass despite being in a deficit, creatine is where it's at for hypertrophy though

I want to get into the seed sprout game.

I eat lots of hemp seed and mushrooms. Eggs, cheese, yogurt, fruits, nuts, and veggies are staples. I pig out though i cant lie but my diet has become well rounded recently. Its hard for me to constantly buy or grow greens though. I should start a micro green and sprout 'lab'.

Been eating bacon almost everyday but limiting carbs significantly across the board and doing time restricted eating. I've been getting full way quicker.

I ran a couple miles today.

Ya I've lost about 20lbs the last 4 months.

Started intermittent fasting and reducing carb intake.

Barely exercised but lost over 2 inches around my waist and my older clothes are fitting me again.

I just fit into my jeans that I couldn't wear since last summer.

Starting to feel better.  Got about another 20lbs to go and I'll be where I want to be.

Just gotta cut back on the alcohol and find the motivation to exercise and weight train.

Appetite will come back even with no weed if you keep working out though.

I like to take small dabs once or twice during a tough work out as I feel that it allows me to go a little harder for a little longer.
But if they weren't available, it wouldn't be an issue.

When I was training last year for ski season, I would only smoke every night right before bed and was eating better than I had ever in the past.

Give it a few days. Maybe a week, and you'll be good.

I'm a very big proponent of not quitting the use of Cannabis if it's beneficial, but you must own your shit, and not throw pity on yourself for something you did wrong in life. However small that wrong was, you're now dealing with the consequences. May as well deal with them with a smile on your face.

Or get that monkey dong

So got this really sore left shoulder still, and the pain isn't strong enough to prevent me from my body weight exercises, but I am having a lot of pain with free weights, and of course the dips.

I think I strained it doing 10 sets of 16 dips a few days ago.

Took a little break from them, and just tried to do dips now.. Not working so well.

Any tips or ideas on faster recovery from too much stress on a specific shoulder muscle? (don't understand why only left is sore. Could even be from an advanced yoga pose I tried and well, I may have overextended

Should I stop doing the dips until I recover fully?

Ski season officially starts here tomorrow though!.
Best way to get my legs in shape. 2nd earliest opening ever in CO.
And first ski area in America to open this year.

Stoked!

Yes. I've had this injury a couple of times and unfortunately the only way to get it to heal is to stop using that muscle and let it rest. Which is a fucker cause it's activated in so many exercises.

Hot and cold compressions will speed up the healing.

Ah, fuck.
Yea, every time over the last few days I've tried, I seem to make it worse. That should have been obvious.
I believe it's the rotator cuff being sore as when doing my pushups, there's absolutely no pain.
Added a 30lb weight vest yesterday.
Liking it quite a bit.

It's horrible to be forced to take a break when you're on a good run, but you're only gonna make it worse and make it take longer to heal by continuing.

Take five days off and spend your usual training time doing hot and colds on it.

You'll thank me later.
