YOU'RE very different from ten minutes cardio.
Also I didn't sweat lifting. But man do I feel it. Hello obscure back muscles.

No, you're not. Please stop this spread of misinformation.
Ten minutes training is enough to do exactly fuck all if you live a sedentary lifestyle with a crap diet.
A strict diet will make 85% more difference in physique than 'ten minutes of cardio' will do if done for years on end.

diet is absolutely essential. any exercise is basically useless for your health if you diet is crap.
and i'm not saying lighter exercise will get you the results you're looking for necessarily, i'm just saying it's still effective at increasing strength and improving health

Another 4.6 mile run today. Time = 35 minutes and 35 seconds. Didn't beat my time from yesterday. But that brings my total to 9.2 miles ran in less than 24 hours. Which is good as well.

Bull shit, it is way more important that you are out there exercising than your diet. A lot of professional athletes eat unhealthy diets, but they are at the top of their game because they stay in shape and get after it. A good diet never made a top athlete, it just stopped people from achieving their potential.

being good at sports doesnt necessarily mean someone is in good physical health. there are exceptions, some people just have good genes and dont need to watch their diet as much. if improving health is your goal, proper diet is essential

important for what?
I would say exercise is more important for we'll being but diet is more important for weight loss. You can consume calories so mich faster than you burn them off. The two absolutely go hand in hand though. And yes there are people who can get away with eating 6000 calories without doing much exercise and stay slim, but frankly that is usually because of genetic anomalies like hyperthyroidism or XYY (having an extra Y chromosome) syndrome. More people in the west are used to living in calorie surplus state than living in a deficit. It takes just as much if not more effort for obese to gnore their hunger as it does for them to go to the gym and work up a real sweat. If you aRe into resistance training then dietnmakes all the difference between a bodybuilder physique, which is what most transitioning obese people want, and having a powerlofter phyique, which is basically just being overweight in terms of fat but way stronger than the average person.

For overall health, if you were to do one or the other, you should exercise and eat shitty rather than eat great and not exercise at all. But clearly dialing in what your specific needs are for your desired results and than tailoring a diet and exercise regime is the ideal situation.

That would be an interesting study, but it would be virtually impossible to conduct. For example my job involves constant low grade exercise and I am really not sure how to equate the amount of physical work I do there to how much time your average joe would have to spend in the gym to get the same results. I think you're onto something though because dieting sucks if you still just feel like crap all the time, and working out hard for at least 45 minutes a day will improve your subjective well being enough to keep you motivated to stay on course. But in terms of what is primarily contributing to lipolysis, the answer would definitely be diet.
Speaking of which, as of September 5th I had bulked up to 167 by adding in an extra 500-700 (mostly empty) calories at night, and then I just stopped doing that and don't eat after dinner except maybe a handful of pumpkin seeds, and as of today I have cut back down to 150. I'd wager 90% of the weight I lost was fat. I mean I do work out every day but it's a demonstration that a simple diet change makes a huge difference faster than doing exercise.

Looking really good buddy I think what I like about fitness is that there is almost no limit to how refined you can build yourself up to be... I've been slowly grinding away at cardio and weight training for years and still have much to improve on. I need to eat more mainly.
I had a bust-ass day and followed it up with some gym time. Just got in from a mile or so walk with the girl and i'm about to put some time in on the skateboard.

Your metabolism would never be even close to that good if you didn't work out and maintain an active lifestyle. If you just sat around all day, every day, than you it would be different for sure.

You guys are killing it! Good job, everyone.
Morrow, holy shit! I remember a couple years ago you talking about letting yourself go a bit and trying to get in shape. Great fucking job!
Anyone here have knowledge on creatine stacking cycles?
Every site or forum I read has different suggestions.
I've been ingesting 20 grams a day for the last 4 days. I've had people tell me to go 20 grams for 5 days, then go down to 5 grams a day for the foreseeable future..
And then I've had people tell me to go for a 20 gram a day 6 week cycle, followed by a 4 week 5 gram cycle followed by a 2-4 week break from it. Any ideas?

Take BCAA's after your workout too. Next most effective supplement there is, aside of a good multivitamin daily.
