Anybody got any tips to prevent stoner munchies? Asking for a friend
i'm glad to hear you've been able to do some walking. i love the simplicity of walking, and how good my body feels afterward.
for me cannabis CAN be detrimental to my progress.
i can't make it an everyday thing, and i frequently take long breaks, because when i go back to it i plateau because of the habit changes (eat two whole pizzas a day) i tend to make when i'm smoking.
sometimes i can stay on routine to the absolute when partaking, but then there's other times, where i feel its effects make it difficult to stay motivated.
for me cannabis is a prop or tool that i have to use with an intentful purpose.
not all, not nothing, just moderating in the middle. and a pizza here and there!

Had a bit of a setback at the gym today.
Backstory: this year my wife and I are experimenting with a femdom/FLR. (Female Led Relationship) I get home, strip, She puts my collar on me. We are happy. All is well.
Fast forward to today.
Walked my happy ass into the gym early AF, got swiped in, stowed my gym bag, strutted into the weight room, started working out. Noticed everyone staring a little. Decided to go heavy on the weights, give 'em something to look at.
Took me a whole set of curls to realize I had left my collar on.
It is black leather with a D-ring, and says "BOY TOY" in chrome letters across the front.
I am dead.
Dead.
So today I didn't get much of a workout in. Got to the bathroom, took the collar off, changed clothes and hoped that no one would recognize me as the same person. Tried not to look anyone in the eye.
Still re-racked my weights though.

Who is in? Group fitness challenge / bullshit online accountability thing.
Obviously it's like 80% eating but if we start now we will be great by next spring and we will be tearing up Tindr and ggg-something-ing Grindr by November.

I’ve lost about 15kg and I’m excited to cut a few more. I had knee surgery the last week of June from a lifting injury and a huge lifestyle change as far as my gym life.
I had just eaten before this photoand I’ve lost a couple lb more since Thursday when it was taken but I’m excited to start to see definition kinda.
The best time to weigh yourself is in the morning after you’ve used the loo but before you eat or workout in my experience because it’s been the most accurate and consistent, well for me anyway.

In the past couple of years I have transformed myself from this to this. I take quite a few supplements and do a pre workout. I have a very low fat, low carb diet. I hit the gym for an hour a day and 2 hours on saturday or sunday I do full body workouts. I don't focus on one muscle group each visit.

But clearly dialing in what your specific needs are for your desired results and than tailoring a diet and exercise regime is the ideal situation.
That would be an interesting study, but it would be virtually impossible to conduct. For example my job involves constant low grade exercise and I am really not sure how to equate the amount of physical work I do there to how much time your average joe would have to spend in the gym to get the same results. I think you're onto something though because dieting sucks if you still just feel like crap all the time, and working out hard for at least 45 minutes a day will improve your subjective well being enough to keep you motivated to stay on course. But in terms of what is primarily contributing to lipolysis, the answer would definitely be diet.
Speaking of which, as of September 5th I had bulked up to 167 by adding in an extra 500-700 (mostly empty) calories at night, and then I just stopped doing that and don't eat after dinner except maybe a handful of pumpkin seeds, and as of today I have cut back down to 150. I'd wager 90% of the weight I lost was fat. I mean I do work out every day but it's a demonstration that a simple diet change makes a huge difference faster than doing exercise.

it's an illusion if you think i am any stronger in the first pic, I can actually lift more now. except on arms, my muscle seems to come go from there first and build in my legs first.

I think the proper way to do it, given the subject matter, would be to do 100 kegels, stroke yourself hard, draw a smiley face on your bellend with a sharpie, stick it through a piece of bread like a cat meme, and then tense your dick hard as you can as you take the shot.

Ha. I read that as "I drilled a new hole in my bed today." And figured you had been furiously fucking your mattress all day. Have you been loosing the belly weight just by change of diet or have you gotten started on your body weight exercises yet?
Today is the day, though! The day that my life changes forever! Again... Since June of last year I've been living by myself with the exception of the 3 months I was raising my son. And more recently I spent 4 months relatively isolated in an alpine forest. Going to wake up in a few hours to my wonderful fiance moving in along with her 2 year old boy.

It's also the day that I'm going to start my vegetarian diet for a month. Something I've done twice before in my life for 3 and 4 weeks respectively. Knowing myself, I'll most likely go back to my omnivore ways the minute a perception arises of my gains from working out slowing down.
And just to be clear, I believe all humans should be omnivores as that's how our bodies and brains were made to work to their maximum capacity. But going pretentious veggie life for a few weeks makes my psoriasis disappear as well as gives me some added energy.
Also, I'd like to say good job! To all the members here who started working out again, or are getting into it for the first time. As I've mentioned before, this thread is a good motivator for me, and every day that I see you guys posting about being active in general, it inspires me to go harder. I appreciate you all.

crossfit is notorious for causing injury, crossfit trainers are not attentive enough to potentially injury causing behaviors.
you appear to be in normal/optimal health for a woman, around 17%bf. you've got a little wiggle room if you really want to get more ripped, but if you get too ripped you'll mess up your hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, stop ovulating and all of the other stuff that comes along with that.

hey walrus, if you looking for hypertrophy you want the tempo of movement to be 2/0/2 that's 2 seconds on the concentric phase, no pause, followed by two seconds on the eccentric phase.
most studies show that for hypertrophy, rest period should be 60 seconds...max! (less is fine)
can you do more than 5 reps at a time with your current weight?
five reps is more appropriate for maximal strength. again, the studies show that for hypertrophy you should be doing 6-12 reps.
again, the above is the scientific text book answer.
being an individual take the above numbers, and tweak and tailor them to your individual needs, desires, and observed outcomes.
here is my back progress:

I did a sunrise climb of old rag mountain in Virginia a few years ago. Lost my toenail on the descent. The constant smashing of your feet into the front of your shoes when going downhill did me in. The top 1/3 of the climb is what they call a rock scramble, not so much hiking but jumping and crawling from rock to rock. It’s pretty hard on the feet. And you constantly have to make sure you’re not putting your hands in front of the mouth of a hiding rattlesnake.

I'm on about year ten of almost daily meditation, intense exercise, and strict diet.
I've had times when I've not kept up with them in that period, or course, when life is at its most difficult or tragic or hedonistic.
However since recently again implementing them daily WITHOUT FAIL, and with the strict intent of continuing to do so from here on out, I can say with some experience that the impact on ones wellbeing and mental health is literally night and day.
Especially as one gets older, it seems. It's much easier to just feel good without much effort when you're younger, but with increased awareness, responsibility, and the inevitable degradation of ones physical being, I feel it becomes crucial to maintain healthy routine, and to do so regardless of anything else.

Super proud of you morrow.
You looked very different back in the day.
It's amazing how once you truly cement fitness into your life, how it transforms you mentally hey?
I've really switched gears myself. My 'obsessyness' was in high gear for 3 years. The fourth year I spent the entire time grinding through, chasing the passion and motivation I had for the first 3. I pushed and just thought that if I'm diligent, "it will come back". I rode out a year, burnt out and not enjoying it anymore.
Took 4 months off(minus my heavy physical exertion at work)
Decided, it was time for a change.
I'm back on track, with new forms of training and new activities.
But those 4 months did a number tho
Went to get dressed up for a dinner with the ms.'s last night...all my 30" dress pants wouldn't button up anymore. Even the 32" I had were much too snug. I'm like a 33 or 34"

5'7, 178lbs - 34" waist
...this post will be reminder in 3 months time
Going to try and buy some rogue Olympic plates in may
