Novatek F4010 HEPA Filter Novair 2000 24" x 24" x 11.5"
I paid 160 now I need to find a damn blower and the trick here is I have to use a fucking Home Depot gift card to get it.
I'm looking at these: https://www.homedepot.com/p/XPOWER-Mini-600-CFM-Blower-Fan-with-Daisy-Chain-and-3-Hour-Timer-P-200AT/203991492
https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-600-CFM-Blower-Fan-Air-Mover-with-Daisy-Chain-AM2265/301703580?MERCH=REC-_-PIPHorizontal1_rr-_-301359952-_-301703580-_-N
Any ideas if I'll be able to make it work? Also, what should I build the cabinet from? Pref something i can buy from home depot.
Thanks for any help!

I don't know about those blowers if they would work for laminar flow. But used to if you had a HD gift card you could get something for a few dollars then get the balance back in cash...not sure if it's that way anymore. Worth a try then you could use the cash to get a squirrel cage blower.
Don't take what I said for any fact...I'm trying to confirm my blower for my new filter as well.

From my understanding you need air coming out at 100 fpm. So with a 2 x2 filter you have 4 sq feet of surface area so you need 400cfm blowing to achieve that flow. With the combined static pressure of the hepa and the prefilter you have to match the blower to achieve the 400 cfm.
The blower I have shows what the blower can achieve at X amount of static pressure. Knowing the resistance of your filter is key to knowing what blower you need....I'm stumped here too. I can send the blower back with ease but shipping on the filter is too much to send back.

and mine is a pleated high efficiency filter not like the 11" thick metal fin type...mine is 4" thick and super dense so I don't know what the static pressure is on mine really...that's key to matching the blower.

HD also sells inline fans if you google it.
seen mixed opinions on inline fans but there's this....pricey but it's through HD....you can get the same thing through ebay for under $100
Almost 800 cfm...the ones on ebay that size have a speed controller already on them if you need to slow it down.

I got a working laminar flow box!!! I know its ghetto and made of cardboard, duck-tape and hot glue but I have done around 100 rye jars with zero contams as with the lids removed and now. I even took 3 rye jars, placed them in the airflow for an hour and then took 3 more rye jars and placed them around the house for roughly the same time over a week ago and there's no growth of contams at all in the 3 you would expect and the other are horrible green nasty messes. I do plan on building this properly but wanted to test the blower and filter before I wasted any more time.
I also did the flame test and my own test where I used my vape to generate a stream of vapor similar to something used in wind tunnels and the air is whatever the opposite of turbulent is as far as I can tell. I compared this result to a box fan setup to blow into an area like what I referred to as my work area on my laminar box and it's much more turbulent when the flow coming from my HEPA is smooth as a mofo
I started this hobby a long time ago. This pic is of my first casing might show how long I've been at this: I wish I would have done this long ago it saves so much work and time. It also makes me feel more comfortable in ways I can't explain lol
This is a side view of the entire thing. From left to right, on the left, you see its green and might think that's some sort of filter and they are but I used them to hold the lids while I taped the shit together and they became part of the thing. next, you have the filter itself, then a box that's just there to connect the filter to the box with the blower in it and of course all the way to the right is that box with the blower and two different furnace filters to ask as a prefilter.
My work area is duck tape lined for now
This is the blowers power cord. You can see the pre-filters here the outside one is the cheapest of the cheap and the one under it is much better.
