Likely just bacterial. Is it too late to let them recover, possibly syper low spawn ratio, if not just straight cased grain?

just noticed I made my grain jar holes like 5/8 in when the norm seems to be 1/4. think I should gum up most of the filter with silicone to make it a smaller opening or is it not worth worrying about?

I would close off some of the hole. OR maybe a single layer of micropore tape will restrict the flow slightly.

I'll weigh'em after they dry. half of the first set of pins.

I floated the sub and harvested with a bread knife in my kitchen. hope the tams don't set in and ruin things.

you know the pins were growing pretty slow, so i turned my humidifier back on and closed the closet door. didn't stuff the bottom of the door. dang things shot right up.

what's good advice for a post floated sub. how do i keep it healthy after basically a submerge/douse? all the water was emptied, but the sub is wet all over. shouldn't i encourage drying and then increase the humidity to keep the mycelium strong. then push for pinning conditions?

right now the thing i changed was i turned a fan on in the closet so air flow and evap is increased. don't want to keep the sub wet like it is now for long.

It should be fine, is the grain drying out before full colonization? If not then Fukkit. Thats the whole reason we dont just use full sfds without the metal lid

Yes, I use about 3.5l which is about 3 imperial quarts, my bricks are closer to 600g though.

I have been using a 5# brick.
I do weigh it out to 650g since that's what a brick of eco earth is. I also weigh my verm to 230g after weighing 2 quarts. I have noticed 4q of water does seem a tad on the wet wide and have been using 3.5q of water as well.

On a side note and a bit of warning to others, beware of the 5# blocks of coir. I'm sure some are good but the one I got has been a thorn in my side.

I am sick and tired of seeing not only jungle turds before but now finding peanuts and bones in the block I ordered.
Been sterilizing every batch so far because it's been so sketchy. I did spawn one tub unsterilized and got a couple plant sprouts in it. Not 100% coir for sure.  :mad2:

I did order some eco bricks because it's a pain in the ass having to PC that crap because it's so impure.

I got a 5kg block of coir cheap ($12 Max) and it is def lower quality. The Coir Has more stones and seeds and things in it and doesn’t have quite the same consistency, but it works perfect for me and I pasteurize and add black kow/verm.

No triched tubs. I do add it to a bucket to hydrate and break it up to get most seeds and stones to sink to the bottom

I've been using bod's new formula he put in his bucket tek. Grams of coir times 5 equals ml's of water. Seems to work well and it is obviously going to be more consistent than using "brick" as your unit of measurement.

Does anyone one know if mycelium attached to plant roots can expel or transfer any enzymes produced by the plant?
I am already aware nutrients can be exchanged, and the mycelium may produce limited enzymes.

Good update by bhod. Ive been using that fomula alot. But reducing it to 4.75ml-4.5ml specially here in wet tropics.

Interms of coir expasion rate, eg. if i need 1000ml of hydrated coir i multiply it to 0.08 which equate 80g of dry coir needed.

I’ve got sterilized agar in a bottle in the fridge. It’s about 2months old. Can I microwave and use it still?

Could post in the stones thread but this is fine.

ATL#7 dated 7/16.

Is that guy a stone? If so what's with the bubbles of water or whatever.

Side note elm oyster is the fastest mycelium I've ever seen. Transferred straight from the fridge and it colonized a 60mm petri in 3 days.  Wtf
