I know these threads are generally not ID threads, but I found this mushroom while hiking in Olympic National Forest today, and it appears to be bluing at the base of the stipe (although bruising pink everywhere else.

Is it a weakly active Pluteus (americanus/cyanopus) or perhaps a Gymnopilus?

Find near Lacamas Lake - Washington [Re: breeg89]

Came across hundreds of these today in a park near lacamas lake in Camas Washington. Any idea what they might be? Stems are hollow. Found growing in grassy field with sandy soil. Field surrounded by conifer trees, and blackberry bushes.

Found in Astoria yesterday. Just pins at my spot for now, left them to mature.

For those who are thinking of heading out to hunt for Liberties, I'd hold off at least another week or two, or go to higher altitudes where it's colder. Just went out to take a look, nothing yet, still a little bit to early I suppose. I live just north of the 49th parallel, lower mainland.

Looks like a young Inocybe calamistrata or similar, there are a few closely related species with blue/blueing bases but only I. calamistrata has been found to contain psilocybin if I remember correctly.

99.5% sure they are Cyans. Never found an Azurescen at this spot.

Oh damn nice find NC! Those are nice fall fruits for panther caps! Last year was crap for em. You ever smoke the cap skin?

And I forgot to post astas cyan bin it was just pinning! They were a pheno I got in south Seattle that fruited quite early each year till the patch was discovered by others. They still are an early variety!

Good news. Glad to see it starting up. Checked my spot last weekend, nothing yet. I'm probably gonna check this weekend...and every weekend. I'd like to cultivate some in my back yard. Any advice as to how to do that by transferring from an active spot to a new location?
