Cutting I recieved from a fellow shroomerite.  I'm going to leave it indoors for the winter and outside in the summer. Does anyone else do it this way with success?

Well maybe if it were crushed, but Ferrel used eggshells broken in half only. I was referring to this picture:

All good guesses. But no. I didnt get around to crushing thwm. No feeding of soil cause thwy may take forever to break down. Just to make a lighter soil.

Yeah, just about all of us bring them in for the winter. In general, all plants are easier and more hardy as they get bigger. Unfortunately yours is pretty small. It may be a struggle to keep it alive through the winter. I’d suggest keeping it as warm and humid as possible. If you’re not going to put it under a light, I’d put it in the window of your bathroom. Keep it watered and don’t be surprised if the leaves fall off. If so, there is a decent chance it will bounce back after it’s been outside a little while next Spring.

Thank you for the advice! I will do all I can for her. Shes currently by a window now. I gave her some plant food yesterday along with water. I've been misting her with a spray bottle every day.

I hope she takes off and grows up! Unfortunately she's my only one.

Another one of my Rifat seedlings is growing a horn:

Still very far from this type of glory:

About the horns, it seems like mineral content in the soil is definitely not the only factor.
Micaele sent me this pic from a Malaysian farmer, both plants were grown in the same soil side by side, but different genetics:

Is there such thing as pink veined? This bumblebee is getting that on the flush of new growth.

I have been told that there is such a thing.
I currently have what was sold to me as a 'Pink Vein Indo' and a bumble bee, but unfortunately the two got mixed up before I could label them after I had repotted them. The growth is still pretty similar too, so I'm going to wait till they have a nice little canopy going before I try getting help differentiating which is which.
One is clearly more hardy than the other tho.

I've often wondered if the two are just the same thing. Another kratom marketing ploy.

From everything I've seen the Bumblebee and PVI look identical to me. More rounded foliage than Rifat or Indos. Malays look similar to Bumblebee as well.

As far as the two growing differently, alot of variables to consider. Even if they happened to be clones from the same plant.

I'll post a picture tomorrow but I got all my baby's potted and out of the sgfc today.

Out of 12 Cuttings. In two months time.
9 are fully rooted and growing.
1 is still rooting.(had to cut some brown stem off today)
8 Bumblebee
1 Rifat

They look beautiful!
Thanks y'all for all your help!

Once I get them in the GH and they get settled.
I'll have to get them some larger pots.
I plan to trade a few.

One odd thing though.
Since I've put them at their new home.(This Morning)
My cat goes straight for them.
Occasionally sniffing the leaves and laying back down near them.

Anyone else's animals take a fancy to their trees?

Beautiful Trees Ferrel!!! :awesomenod:

Awesome that your cuttings are taking off snakeye!.

My only one, not so much. It was rooted in rockwool when it arrived.  I transplanted the day it got here. I left it alone for a few days.

Its inside and in a window. I've watered a couple times and gave it a little of the miracle grow plant food.

It's done nothing. It hasn't wilted or grown. In 3 weeks it's the same as the day I potted it.

Any ideas? Or just chalk it up as a failure?

It’s doing fine Romeo, just give it as much light and humidity as you can. Try giving it a few hours of direct sun. You’re plant is growing, it’s just growing underground where you can’t see it. Once the roots are better established it will start growing above ground.

Good to hear! It's been indoors the whole time. I've thought about putting it outside for a while each day but didn't want to forget about it or shock it.

With so little time left in the growing season, your best bet would be to keep it inside and let it acclimate in there as it has been. As said, make it comfortable.

I've left my clones indoors and they took about a month or so after rooting to start pushing new foilage. But they are taking off like a rocket now.

Well shoot. That would be easier for me! I'm not overwatering the soil at the moment and I do spray the foliage when I think about. Every couple three days or so I guess.

Off topic. What is that Caterpillar in your sig? I had some on my parsley this year.

I'd ease up on watering until you see new growth maybe. I just watered mine for the first time the other day but only because I'm introducing them to sunlight and they wilted a bit.

It turns in to a Black Swallowtail or East Black Swallowtail. That picture is on bronze fennel. They like parsley, dill, carrots, and parsnips as host plants. In my area they are found in big numbers as caterpillars on bronze fennel and stick around as adults.

Heres an update on my hirsuta, wine bottle for size reference.

Think Im going to repot and begin acclimating to outside soon. Probably need to feed it too because it's been growing somewhat slow recently.
