The first thing I do when I call the cops is get scared when they show up for no reason. Then when they get there I make sure to act really fucking weird, not listen to them get real freaky and get my knife ready.
Dude probably intoxicated, crashed his car, knew he would get caught and thought narcing on himself would reduce the consequences then when they showed up panicked about getting arrested.
We're lucky he didn't head on a family of 4 on their way home from Grandmas.
Could it have had a better outcome? Of course, it also could have been an ambush, which after all the police riots became a lot more common.
If he didn't want to come out of the car he could have just sat there motionless but no he wanted to get his knife and once he is doing something like that for all they know he has other things in there more than a knife.
Dude poses a public threat at this point and has already crashed his car.
Even being tazed and all this other shit, shot with beam bags etc to subdue him he never surrenders. He wanted to go out swinging.
A snowball effect of bad decissions.
He could have called a tow truck. All I see is suicide by cop.

They didn't just show up and shoot him, they tried verbally getting him to come out, for a damn hour, before beam bagging him with a shotgun over 10 times, they tried tazing him, and the more they tried to disable him the more wild he got.
The threat got neutralized. It is a damn shame that things like this happen but what are you gonna do.

""I'm stuck in a dangerous place and I will be killed," Glass can be heard saying in a rambling phone call to emergency services that was released by his family's lawyers, where he repeatedly tells the operator he loves her, discusses draining the negativity out of people with crystals, and fixates on "skinwalkers" watching him from outside his vehicle."
It is even worse, he thinks people around are not people but mysterious entities faking being people.
"I understand this is a dodgy situation for you guys as well."
He had some self awareness of how fucking ridiculous he is being.
Time to use some rational thought and just take the L and accept your DWI

I will also add, cops basically are straight edge, they don't know how to talk to someone tripping balls, they are not like you and me.
I can't even pass a polygraph to become a cop because you are asked if you have ever used intravenous drugs.
I would like to try being a cop, I really don't feel fear in a situation like this, I wouldn't care about getting a jab from his knife so long as it isn't my eye or throat of which I I would be guarding.
I could have gotten him out of the car and subdued alive.
But I doubt it would have even come to that.
Cause I know how to talk to someone tripping balls, I have been in those shoes and know what its like and what he wants to ear.
I could get down on his level, figure out what is going on and work it all out and since he called the cops and seemed to have attempted to "do the right thing possibly" depending on what he says, call him a toe truck and give him a warning as it seems he will probably come out of it with a good life lesson.
Nothing but his own shit and psyche was damaged.
But that isn't the world we live in. We live in a world of law, where cops are so straight edge when it comes to drugs by the nature of the law making drugs illegal, that they just can't relate and there really isn't any other option with the way things are so all you can do is lick their boots, they tried every avenue to get cooperation before shit got crazy.

It’s like when family members called 911 because of a suicidal relative and then the cops show up and kill them. It’s a bad joke.

I have known plenty that are straight up alcohol abusers, but that's OK because alcohol is legal.

Drunk driving isn't though, and now that body cams are a thing, there are many a video on youtube of drunk cops getting busted.

Wilds pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact and was sentenced to five years in prison, with all time suspended, plus two years’ probation. He testified against Syed.
He might not have strangled her but he seems to have been involved in some way if someone testified against him.
I know nothing about this case and your article sheds very little light on the details.

Lol holy shit dude. Read the court filing. They essentially call Jay a liar. Everyone does anymore. Jay was fed these lies by police. The guy who “found” the body was involved too. Hae’s car was found behind his cousins house. The main reason they are releasing syed is the fact that there are new much more credible suspects
Ronald Lee Moore is the killer

So you know enough about this case to know all the details of what happened? Who did it, how and why and where the current person who was convicted for it, where he was at the time and know for sure he didn't do it?
Everything I read about it is they just fubared the case into oblivion and somehow got a conviction.
As my lawyer said, it isn't my job to prove the truth, it is my job to get you off, I get murderers off all the time and I sleep like a baby because I did my job.

His lawyers didn’t file this request to vacate the conviction. The state did. They now admit the police and prosecutors lied and hid evidence about a suspect who had threatened Hae Min Lee’s life, who had just gotten out of jail and who later was discovered to be a serial killer. (Including the murder of another young Korean woman in Baltimore a month before syed went on trial). In addition the guy who found her body failed a polygraph test and her car was found in his cousins backyard miles from the dump site. The police knew all of this the whole time they were building a case against syed.

I have missed the part where they lied but they did conceal 2 other possible suspects.
However the cell phone data and also some testimony is indictive he was in the area at the time of the murder.
The job of the courts is to prove beyond reasonable doubt, at this point there is reasonable doubt.
However that doesn't mean he didn't do it, or wasn't involved and we will never know.
If he did it or not, or was involved at all or not, it looks like he will walk as a free man.

You didn’t read the filing. They also say the cell phone tower data was garbage. The state hid information that ATT had told the police that incoming call location data was not accurate. The cell phone expert has recanted his testimony. It should also be pointed out that jay had the cell phone that day and the only reason they could use it against syed is that jay said he was with syed, testimony that is also called into question by the state.
