Police unions have unbelievable power. If they choose to protect a cop, that cop can get away with practically anything. The reason certain cities have seen an explosion in violence is because the police in those cities have been told to not put any effort into doing their jobs because they are angry at the citizens and politicians for trying to hold them accountable. A lot of cops only enjoy their jobs because they get to be little tyrants. It’s no fun if people are going to get mad every time they kill a citizen.

A LOT of cops are alcoholics and drug addicts. A lot of them are wife beaters. A lot of them drive intoxicated too. A lot of cops commit suicide and have a host of emotional issues. There are some cops that are actually cool but they are few and far between. When I was 16/17, I had a an older gay cop friend who liked to do ecstasy EVERY weekend. We had sex one time which was initiated by me.
When I had to go to dui school back in nov 2019 to feb 2020, one of the students was an ex COP who had gotten a dui and had to turn in his badge and all his guns for a domestic violence conviction. He only gave dui's when someone got in an accident. If there was no accidents, he would have the driver call a buddy to pick them up and they can get their car the next day.
He told us that COP HOUSE PARTIES have the most drugs you'll ever see in your life and if you ever get a chance to go to a cop house party, do it. All the best drugs you can get lined up on the tables like hors d'oeuvres. Apperently cop house parties are also the loudest and craziest parties.

yeah I wouldn't know but when I was firefighting in northern california there was more alcohol at those parties than I'd ever seen before. Lots of weed too cause half of everyone grew on the side for extra cash and no one got tested besides the engineers.

And I thought the Victorian cops were thugs. Those Arizona cops are plain murderers.

Off duty cop working at Walmart as security, keeping the prices low by discouraging shrink on those Chinese made products. This dude got past two intensive psyche screenings, Walmart and the Tuscon police department allowing him to carry a gun.

I don't know how much of a threat they thought he was but at :30, the cop is shooting with the bystander on the left in his line of fire. That fucking psycho put her in way more danger than a guy in a wheelchair could have

They would do good to give everyone who works in the police department he's been fired from another psyche evaluation, might want to do that twice a year from now on.

This shooting looks terrible to the casual observer , but , the guy in the chair had a knife , he was shoplifting , he had stolen property and when asked about it he pulled a knife and said shoot"" me if you want me to drop it """ I'm going to argue in defense of the cop , not because I think this was justified, just cause I think I can . Is there a proper way to stop a guy in a wheelchair who's making threats with a deadly weapon ? You don't know if he can walk or not ....

He was 61 years old, and disabled so he doesn’t really count, since only healthy younger people matter since covid.

Sure he had a knife but the shooting can't be justified as there's no basis on the 21 foot rule (see vid).
Why?
He had no use of his legs. He could have been non-lethal stopped, be it mace or a taser. Even tipping his wheel chair over would render him little more than sprawled on the ground.
Quote:

Even if his legs worked the police had guns drawn and had he attempted to rise from a seated position then they could have shot him. That didn't happen. They shot him seated so they can't claim they thought he could stand because they never let that possibility happen.

Yeah, that's could be. His limbs though seem from the video to be very thin and he's in a motorized wheel chair. Two things that I thought made it unlikely that the chair was a prop. Also I had read this before posting:
"Tucson’s police chief, Chris Magnus, said the Walmart employee approached Richards and asked him to show him a receipt. Richards responded by pulling out a knife and said: “Here’s your receipt.”
According to Magnus, Remington ordered Richards to stop and hand over the knife, to which the Walmart employee heard Richards say: “If you want me to put down the knife, you’re going to have to shoot me.”
Magnus condemned the shooting on Tuesday, saying: “His use of deadly force in this incident is a clear violation of department policy and directly contradicts multiple aspects of our use of force and training.” from here before posting, https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/dec/02/arizona-police-officer-fired-fatally-shooting-man-wheelchair
