Two federal cops in Virgina charged with manslaugher

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/10/15/bijan-ghaisar-manslaughter-charges/

Quote:

Two U.S. Park Police officers were charged Thursday by a Fairfax County special grand jury with manslaughter in the November 2017 shooting of unarmed motorist Bijan Ghaisar, marking the latest dramatic twist in a saga that has featured protests, congressional inquiries, an FBI investigation, civil suits and little official explanation for the man’s violent death.
Officers Alejandro Amaya, 41, and Lucas W. Vinyard, 39, have been on paid administrative duty with the Park Police since shortly after the shooting. The Park Police have not yet begun an internal investigation, waiting instead for criminal charging decisions to be made by federal and local prosecutors. The officers were not taken into custody Thursday and prosecutors expected them to make arrangements to surrender.

How many cops does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

None, they just beat the room for being black.

As I understood, this was a topic for anything regarding police. The situation is so bad with police, I only had to option of a negative comment, or a positive one (a joke.) As you can see, I went for the latter. I feel that the real situation is too dire and depressing to focus on without humor... So, what's the problem?

I do thank you for complimenting my avatar, but even Dylan said "To see him obviously framed, couldn't help but make me feel ashamed, to live in a land, where justice is a game!"

I live in a small (5k) town with a supposedly pretty decent police force, needed break from work on the house around 11PM a while back so had to run to the next town over for smokes

Doing the speed limit on the country highway, a car flew up on my ass out of nowhere.  I let him ride dangerously close for about 15 seconds before tapping the brakes (cruise was on) and let myself drop all the way to 40 MPH while this guy stayed way too close behind me.  I hit the gas and took off, realized when he turned off under a street light that it was a local town cop... go figure

On the way home 10 min later, I watched the same cop do the same thing to another car on the road ahead of me.  Apparently, that's how he was choosing to spend his time on the clock that night.  I followed them for a while and the cop made an illegal u-turn a few minutes later and stopped tailgating the other vehicle.

Anyone that had a car fly up on them like that, and ride that close at that speed would be concerned that some psycho was about to inflict some random road rage on them.

They're trying to make you speed. Its a pretty regular thing in rural places. Especially when they see cars they don't recognize or out of state plates. It's harder to drive under pressure they're trying to make you do something to get pulled over.

All in the name of protection, service and safety

I understand their "reason" behind doing it.  It's a totally bullshit move though

Just another example of how "protect and serve" is really "harass and intimidate"

That's how it used to be here... cops looking for some action would make their own.

Things have sort of moved on backwards? Now they just pull people over and breath test us, whenever they want. Plus we get road block style campaigns. Imagine Highway 1 northbound out of Brisbane, the entire 3 lanes are pulled over and breath tested... cop cars everywhere, it's full on.

Yes and the bigger the society the more rights are given up. Hunter gatherers had no dangerous neighborhoods, crime, -- or NSA, CIA, FBI, and so on.

Singapore is apparently the most regulated society, but not as unpleasant as North Korea.

"Brave New World" by A. Huxley shows the lengths to which control may go some day. But already some Swedes chose to be RFID chipped. And that was back in 2019 ! !
