Help using free spray millet for grain spawn?

So i can't seem to find anyone who uses spray millet. Probably because its a pain in the ass to take it off the sticks. I have seen plenty of people talking about using white millet as grain spawn or "master" spawn(which im assuming means what you would use to spawn to other grain jars? please correct if im wrong) All of this spray millet looks yellow. It says it is sun dried. Here are some pics of it.
So im wondering first of all do i need to break it all the way down into ONLY the tiny kernels with none of the "husk" like material or can there be some of the "husk" just not the little twigs? Or would it be possible to just break off the little bundles of kernels and it work the same? Also from what I have read, it is best to just do a short soak and quick rinse and drain then jar and PC instead of boiling/simmering because they will burst too easily and become a sticky mess. How long or short do i need to soak? These cost me nothing so i'd like to work with them instead of going and buying rye grass seed, rye berries, wbs, popcorn, etc. I will use gypsum and/or BRF to combat the stickiness if there is any after the soak, rinse, and drain. As well as a small layer of verm on the bottom of the jar.
So anyone who has any experience with this wanna give me some input? Can I keep the clusters and use as is or have to break them into tiny kernels? Is it worth my time to do this? Will it colonize well and be a good grain spawn for my coco/verm/(possibly worm casings) monotub?

Never tired it but it looks less refined than the millet in WBS. If it's worth the trial and error process than try it out and post back with your findings. Personally I would just get millet or bet yet WBS because by volume is just cheaper.

Hmm what makes millet so good IMO is the small separable kernels.. I don't think I would mind husks and sticks for being in the substrate (think of it as similar to straw? just lignocelluloid material), husks should actually add nutrition a la bran basically right?
But what sucks more is when you don't get nicely seperable kernels, that would kinda defeat the purpose of millet advantages...
I have pretty much only just started with millet but so far I think it is better than the WBS i used before, just as expected (IMO professionals use millet for spawn for a reason).. just need to tune into how long to soak them before PC'ing. Seems like the soak shouldn't be that long at all.
Soaking anywhere from 2-6 hours seems good to me, I can still get burst kernels that way. A few isn't bad. They are just pretty small kernels so it doesn't take that long for water to be absorbed into the core. I might try 1 hour soak sometimes and see - but it would be good to get another opinion on this based on experience!
I have not had this yet but yes I assume too many millet kernels burst and it becomes a sticky mess if you soak for much longer or boil/PC too long, excess soaking and cooking leads to bursting for pretty much all grains, right?
I would definitely not use BRF because I expect that it will stick a lot more, not less, plus it allows contams to fester much more easily whereas with good grain kernels they need to penetrate the grain to access nutrients. (Of course I am talking about a situation with very little contam otherwise it is no good anyway. With gympsum, meh it's okay to use a little for grains but more than that makes a mess too IMO.

Thanks. That makes me feel a little better about using these. I would say the husks should be fine too. And i guess it would be silly to try and leave the kernals all together on the husk.
Once I get my jars set up and some new syringes fixed up I will try a 1-6 hour soak with them and just watch for my first burst kernels and do a quick drain and PC. I figure they won't get too much bigger after the soak so throwing in a half a quart in each jar should be fine?
Will update once i get everything together and start to see some growth.
