Seems to be the case for me in SF too.
I've had the same experience - one of our old, irrigated finds has been very productive this year, but otherwise I'm seeing fewer of all kinds of fungus both in landscaping and in natural settings.
At the same time I'm happy to see what seems like a lot of first-ever finds that people are posting! Y'all putting in the work. Hoping for more rain soon...

Dang I’m jealous. I went to Mendocino recently and there was absolutely nothing because it’s been so dry. Last year this time everywhere you looked there was fungi

Found a big, new (to me anyway) patch in the north valley today.

It was just rotting in an extremely busy parking lot.

Busy parking lots seem to be the preferred habitat for mega patches of allenii in your town Ran-D.

The mushrooms know what they're doing, they want to be eaten.

I have always been convinced of the same. Lots of noobs waste time wandering off the beaten path in the woods and such - most of the time the good ones are right there with us, waiting to be noticed.

found a patch of psilocybe Allenii steps from the front door of a popular restaurant in the east bay
funny how I used to spend hours scouring the earth searching for psilocybes in the fall and now, they seemingly are finding me.
wasn't even looking, simply jus running late for work, dancing through traffic.
plenty more at that spot that I have no intention on picking, a few past there prime, although i also noticed some good pin action going on.
happy holidays everyone

Are things starting to grow in SF? The grass was barely stating to grow as of a couple weeks ago. I was hoping I'd have luck in the East Bay, but I probably code the worst place to get off and hunt. Thinking I should either check Berkley or G the usual area in GGP I've always had luck finding patches at the end of the season. This is the first time I'm well enough during the season to hunt, but have had no luck

It’s pretty dry out there. They can be found but it’s a lot of work. Good luck.
