New idea for sterile work area...

Howdy...
I just had what “sounds” to me, like a good idea.
I’m a first timer at the fruiting stage. I used Oven Tek to inoculate and everything went smoothly.
However, my wife and I have one of those small, 2 person infrared saunas, and I was wondering how effective it would be to use the sauna after a thorough spray down with Lysol, as a clean work space?
The only problem I see with it, is having to open the door to get in...
Does this sound like a good idea to anyone, or am I “trippin”...

I don't understand that oven tek. It sounds like the perfect way to introduce contams. I don't know what an infrared sauna is but I'll hazard a guess it's just another great way to introduce contams.

Why don't you just use a tried and true SAB? It's gonna be far better than the oven, that usually don't work.

Why not clean your sauna with bleach, then put your still air box on it, then you can incorporate your very expensive cancer machine into your organic grow process. Hahaha sorry i'm high.
Made a still air box in less than 2 minutes cost me 8 bucks. You're over thinking it.

I should say I own a 4 inch hole saw. Makes life much easier than coffee cup or box cutter.

Four inches is quite a bit too small for SAB arm holes. You'll just end up fucking hating working in it because you built it wrong with small arm holes.

Seems like it might be a good idea, if you can truly get it clean. As for the opening the door part, you could build a little room out of 1x2s and vapour barrier with a HEPA air purifier pumping air into it to make some positive pressure.
Enter the vapour barrier room, close its door, then enter the sauna.
And don't let these shitters who hate new ideas on this site get to you.
BTW you got a cool wife.

First of all this is extremely far from a new idea. Trying to rely on sanitizers in a small area is extremely old news. The only thing new is he chose a sauna rather than a bathroom, kitchen, closet, tent, etc to bleach out.
Spraying lysol everywhere like it will actually do something is decades old nonsense bullshit. It's fundamentally flawed and also real life proven to not be effective enough for anyone interested in a 90+ percent success rate.
Lysol making a clean area to work is mycology snake oil.
It's not shitting on anything it's trying to help someone. In fact encouraging people to do retarded things is actually shitting on them. Because it's leading them to failure, despite that it temporarily makes you feel nicer than others because you only see people as nay sayers.
Sometimes ideas are stupid.

If you can afford that then you can afford a flowhood. Go big or go home!

The idea/action of Oven Tek, is that the heat rising out of the oven pushes contams away from your jars. I did 18 jars, as a complete first timer, and every jar colonized to 100 percent, clean across the board. Now fruiting incredibly well.
I could be lucky, or it could be, as many many others have stated, an effective Tek...
I’ll skip sauna Tek for now, until Oven Tek gives me an issue.
I will take a look at some SABs and think about it, and eventually make a flow hood.
And yes, my wife is SUPER cool. She’s also about to graduate massage school... I have had a moving business for about 5 years, we saved up, and got loans from the bank and bought a tanning salon a year ago.
We have always been addicted to sauna, so when our buddies gym went out of business, we bought his sauna, put it in the salon, so now we get paid to have a sauna.

What? no. No one worth listening to calls it an effective tek. It's turbulant as fuck. you can light some incense or sage and watch how turbulant the smoke is coming up from the bottom for yourself. Spews filthy air every which direction.
You got lucky. Make a SAB

You can get away with inoculating cakes using a needle on your couch with a cat on your lap. You don't need a SAB to inoculate with needles you just really should. It teaches you good technique for when you get around to doing real grows.
The oven method is completely bullshit and only helps stir up air to move contamination off of surfaces that could only be sanitized, like your gloves.

So far no issues. Ive got a 5, 5.5, 6 and a roto zip in case you want me to stick my head in there, I can make it happen!
I haven't run into any issues yet, probably because I've got some long ape-like arms being this fucking tall.

How could it be that some people like 4" holes? You're the most fart smeller in the world...they must be wrong and just don't know it. Soon they will see that you were right all along.
