Ever pointed binoculars at the moon?

If you haven't you should check it out. Using a pair of 10x50 binoculars (30 bucks at walmart) you can get a really good look at the moon. You can see a decent amount of detail to the larger (and even the smaller) details like craters, ridges, and "seas."

It's almost surreal to get such a good look up. It makes the moon feel so incredibly close in comparison to the stars, and really drives in how small the world we live in is.

If you look at the Pleiades with good binoculars swell you can see all of the seven major stars perfectly and some other dim ones you can't normally see

54. The true nature of things is to be known personally , through the eyes of clear illumination and not through a sage : what the moon exactly is , is to be known with one's own eyes ; can another make him know it?

I have noticed being able to see more stars than normal, but I have a hard time holding them still enough for getting a good look at the stars. I'm holding out for a telescope, but I really want to see some nebulas and planets.

I approve! Give it up for the Pleiadies!

I concur OP, looking at the moon with binocs or a telescope is incredible. So beautiful with detail.

I like how it clearly shows the moon is flat.
