That tub has green mold I would toss that. Sorry man.

Yep, that first pic is mold. It's at the top of the tub. I bet once they takes the sub out of the liner they'll see some mold development on the bottom or sides

More than likely not.. It showed up too early to get a solid flush. It will have a hard time pinning / fruiting because it's too busy fighting the contam (which always wins, unfortunately)

Are contams usually in the grain or jars from the beginning?
If you have a clean spawn and then move it to the substrate ... is the risk of contam likely low?
What actions can I take to ensure I do not get contams when I move my grain to monotub

To my knowledge if your substrate contaminates, especially with coir, it was almost certainly in the grain already . As long as you have clean grain spawn then you don't need to take any special precautions when spawning. All I have experience with is coir tho, so if your using something else I'd wait for another response. I know that with things like manure if you don't properly pasteurize then you can get contams even with clean grain spawn.

I am a firm believer that if your spawn is truly clean your tub is going to get a flush.
I have found that all my contams so far have either been introduced by poor grain prep (less than 90 min) or poor technique while inoculating.

We generate spawn in sterile conditions so that we have a healthy living culture present that has a chance to colonize the substrate before contaminant spores have a chance to germinate and grow to be an issue... spawning in open air subjects the substrate (whether coir only or a mix) to contaminants... always pasteurize mixes, and coir can be partially or fully sterilized using a bucket tek... coir will not contaminate, improperly pasteurized poo mixes will, but will typically get a flush... if it's contaminated prior to pins, it was in your spawn

Caps what do you think about these two pics? Is that contam or the good stuff
