And about that "walk in the woods"... there's more to it than just mold spores, there's also your immune system. That last bit gets stronger by walking in the woods, not weaker. Smelling a sporulating moldy ass jar inside a stale-aired house doesn't do that for your immune system, but I guarantee you if your immune system was already compromised to begin with, it would eventually lead you down a not so fun ride, one where the mold is driving you.

Use your heads folks, and not to sniff jars. If you REALLY need to sniff a jar, just sniff it through your filter...

Dude for real pixel what you are saying is straight bs. Black mold is fuckin
dangerous. I have a friend that spent 2 weeks in the hospitsal after being exposed
during a renovation job. No scare tactics needed he still doesnt breathe very well
and its been a few months.

Aspergillis is a dangerous mold also. Look up Aspergillosis. It's an issue with
anyone who works with plants. Super prevalent in the weed industry. Mainly
effects people with asthma and shit but can be detrimental for anybody. Ill

:angrymob:

Everyone loves to run wild with exaggerated assumptions about what other people say

I never said anything about huffing jars full of mold or buildings that are heavily infested

The truth is that most people are totally freaked out by stuff like black mold for no reason, and that most molds are not "toxic" and especially common small amounts of mold typical to a lot of houses are not dangerous aside from provoking things like allergies

Yet there are now laws in place that require these molds to be dealt with at very high expense, when there is no evidence of the supposed dangers

As for the dangers of having some molded tubs around and whatnot  :shake:

Yeah I wouldn't worry about mold spores harming you. I've only grown about 100 tubs of mold. Some smell like asshole. Some smell like an armpit. Meh. I'm fine.

My heat source is a glass top stove. The PC is MUCH larger than the stove eye..... need to get a burner or something. It seriously takes an hour atleast to start hissing.

Yoy act as if it's a one and done. It is a buildup. Your lungs cant break that shit down it doesnt just happen instantly

In any normal person that breathes in tons of dust and spores per day anyway the phagocytes in your lungs do a good job cleaning up. Besides your nose and throat keeping most stuff from your lungs in the first place

What are you talking about. I've been on MANY mold remediation jobs, we use Hepa air scrubbers with prefilters just like our hoods and micron face masks MANDATORY.

There are some tough motherfuckers doing demo in those nasty conditions, they wouldn't be tough that long if they weren't smart and took care of themselves.

I mean seriously are you suggesting would have no problem open a jar of black mold infested spawn, breath it over any length of time?

:what:

I'm not a person that's sensitive to mold but the risks are real. Says 'its BS' is simply untrue.

Filthy, you've done mold remediation and demo before? That's my job and I love it. Often. Water and fire damage, but mold jobs hit hard in the summer. Cleaned a 2000sq ft home and passed the mold test. Crazy shit. I love home restoration.

If you've ever ever seen real mold jobs, you'd be surprised. That shit grows beards from ceiling fans. I work in mold remediation and it's not an easy task, but you won't die. I've done 50+ mold jobs with a. 75% ateast success rate. Scrubbing Green mold from ceiling. And floor joists. In crawl spaces of homes. Dirty job but I love it. Some jobs take more hepa vacuuming and RMR spraying than others, but mold cleaning isn't that bad. You'll never get rid of it all without burning it. Cool stuff.

Moabfighter do you happen to have any good resources of information for doing this kind of work? At some point I plan on doing some restoration work and trustworthy, no BS info would be nice to have

People with shitty health should be looking primarily at their diet, but in my experience a lot want to blame their problems on stuff that is hyped in popular media/culture like "toxic mold"

PP, you're damn right about that health n diet thing, though it's not just diet, it's diet, exercise, attitude, sleep, basically lifestyle as a whole. But that doesn't mean that mold is harmless or not that harmful. It's a very big part of our health. We spend a whole lot more time breathing than eating; breathe an abundance of toxic molds, fumes, or whatever it is that you can find in your environment that's toxic, and it WILL eventually give you issues. Some will have issues sooner than others, but we're all affected to some extent. Genetics play their part, and so does lifestyle. Mold included. Not being willing to eat right or exercise imho has just as much potential for harm as mold, just to be clear. But saying mold is no issue whatsoever and what's on your dinner plate is, would be a bit over the top, and I think you know that.

Hey guys!

I'm a bit new to mushrooming, and I'm thinking of starting my first cultivation project soon. In your experience, what are the mistakes new cultivators should be most wary of? Thanks!

:justno:

Poor diet is leagues worse than both mold and non-exercise

Simply eating a truly nutritious diet will basically keep you healthy even if you don't exercise, and will keep your immune system in check which in turns makes them molds back the fuck up

Its basically why the US is so fucked healthwise.

Its all about what you eat.
