A foaf has tried the pf method and rye on a small scale. He wants to give the bulk neglect method in the advanced cultivation technique section a try. Plenty of poo and he can get all the other necessary supplies no problem. He just doesnt know what kind of birdseed works best. There is a co op closeby or he could order off the net. He Has a Pink Buffalo print and an Ecuador print. Please help....

The one with the highest amount of millet and the least amount of sunflower seeds.

I don't know if you've got a Superfresh grocery store around you but their WBS is like 98% millet. "America's Choice" brand....highly recomended to attract the greatest amount of..uh...birds.

Penningtons from walmart. And the sunflower seeds dont hurt anything you can just leave em in, I saw somewhere on here that they are a good source of lignen. I never take em out.

They are a good source of lignen, but they also invite contams. If you buy WBS and strain out all the sunflower seeds then you will have enough small sunflower chips that get threw with the millet to supply this lignen and keep your substrate from contamination. Massive amount of sunflower seeds are NOT recommended. If you can find any WBS that just has millet then i would go with that.

My Walmart is out of Pennington's, and the Kaytee mix I bought at Petsmart last isn't there now, either. I found some mixes that looked good, but wasn't sure about one ingredient - canary grass seed. Is it okay for mushies?
