Four of those picture look down from the mesa.  The is the little two bit shithole I live in.

One pic shows a trail where I am stopping, on a bridge over a flood canal.

Nice looking area. Too bad you don't like it there. At least you have a sweet spot to hike out to.  Have you ever planted any cactus out there?  I tried planting bridgesii in the desert by me in secluded spots I hike out to.  But all those bridgesiis got eaten by wildlife.

I have bridge in pots behind my house.  But it is too cold here, sometime down to -10,-15.

My bridges lived through 15 faraheneit.

Bridgesiis are tough.  That's why I chose them to plant in the desert.  If I ever do it again maybe I'll try a Peruvianus.  I have an Icaros that is pretty damn spiny, but its still small.

Looks sweet. I see some small Joshua trees. I love them. They were one of my favorite things in the Cali desert. I miss Cali. I am in IL right now. There are some beautiful spots here though.

I did a new hike today I have never done before. It was at least 8 miles and it was around 90. I was pretty tired when I got done. Usually 8 miles is easy for me but I didn't really eat before I went. It was a nice hike. I got some photos of a Double Crested Cormorant flying. Fucker was on a tree not far from me with it's wings spread. When I raised the camera it started flying. Wildlife never cooperates. I also got photos of a white Egret. A sweet butterfly was sitting on this leaf with it's wings open just perfect. A split second before I hit the button it flew away.
