So, after a summer that's been significantly hotter and drier than usual, we finally got some rain upon us a few weeks ago, temps sunk to normal and the mushrooms started popping all over. Including these little ones that I stumbled upon yesterday in a sheep field. Interestingly enough, there was an unusual amount of Panaeolus cinctulus growing there.
Psilocybe semilanceata hiding in the grass:

I'm somewhat reluctant to make this the official thread for Nordic and Baltic countries until there are other sightings reported.

When did you get that rain and about how much? Similar conditions here, but minimal rain so far, so I'm not sure it makes sense to check just yet. Thanks!

We've had daily showers and quite a bit of drizzle the better part of the last two to three weeks. Before that we had almost no rain and hot temperatures for two months straight.
This is on the western coast of Norway.

Nothing here until just a few days ago, nearly 3 full months of literally zero rain, crazy heat, so... but it's mostly the zero rain,I doubt the myc had a chance - any chance - to grow this year...

Be optimistic. I was having the same thoughts as you when it was 28% RH and 30+ degrees. But strangely enough, 5 days of drizzle made the chanterelles pop up where there had been nothing previously. 5 more days of rain, and lawns were thriving with P. foenisecii.
I think you are underestimating the hardiness of fungi. I'm under the impression they are just waiting for the humidity to rise, and get their chance to fruit. Mind you, the more exposed to direct sunlight, the later they are likely to get going.
But they will come, given the conditions get favourable.

I only have ca. one week, maybe ten days due to circumstances. I'll miss the rest of the season unless it stretches into December (extremely unlikely at my location). I'll make sure to check.
Thanks for the encouragement. Part of me is thinking alone the same lines, i.e., that the myc exists and is ready to pump out fruit bodies in no time. Later this weekend we should get some more rain.

Nice finds Angler
Here in Eastern Europe we got some strange weather at the end of June, with a bit lower temps and tons of rain. I was thrilled to find the earliest libs on 2nd July(post). Next year I'll try my luck and go for them in June, that would get really interesting.

Nice one, Anglerfish. Beautiful cincts too!
Been a very hot summer in here with no rains for several weeks, but next week the night temperatures should drop to near 10 celcius and hopefully we'll get some rains too. Going hunting in a couple of weeks.

I checked my best places. As dry as the Sahara, with the grass burnt and withered. Temps should drop soon but no substantial rain in sight and it's quite windy so it's even drier. No morning dew. The soil is at a point where it's probably hydrophobic... Any rain would just run off right away.
So, I don't think I have a realistic chance to find anything during this short period of time still available to me

You'll have to be inquisitive yet selective regarding where you look. Spots with withered grass are probably less likely to be fruiting early, so you'd better locate some shaded and thus more humid places. Remember that even the "best" spots don't always deliver at the same time of season. Another good reason to always be searching out new areas. Then again, a week is a short window. Best of luck to you!
