Potential Panaeolus ID & My first post!
    #25368477 - 08/05/18 05:32 PM (2 years, 9 months ago)

Hello Shroomery guys!

This is my first post as this year I've decided to try and gather mushrooms! I know libs grow readily where I am (Scotland) so began hunting today. Weather conditions have been very warm and dry since late April, changing to cool and wet in the last ten days or so. I still think it's perhaps too dry/ early for libs to grow but while out hunting I found this mushroom! A bit of research makes me think they might be Panaeolus cinctulus but I'm not sure. There were a few growing but I'm unsure as to how mature they may be, the seem pretty small. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Habitat:
Found growing in grass in a farmers field grazed by sheep.

Gills:
Attached, light brown

Stem:
~80mm length, brown stem which changes to white near the top, soft, easily bent, hollow, thin

Cap:
~20mm diameter, light brown with dark brown edges, firm cap, conical, concave,

Spore print color:
Black - Please see image - Only printed for 2 hours

Bruising:
Very little noticeable bruising

Other information:
Please see attached pictures.

Looks like Panaeolus cinctulus.

You should leave the cap to print for at least 6-8 hours so you can see the color better.
