Ah yes, summer hunting season! I got my first kill with my .438 27.5" barrel spitball shooter this last week and i blew it completely in half with a standard soft tissue paper wad! Distance was about 2 yards and i nailed it first attempt. It was rested on the slicer at work and the spitball blew it to the back ov it and splatted wherein the rear half got blown to the right as seen in the pic below. .438 is such an awesome spitball caliber. I have 2 identical metal tube .438s; one that i keep in my delivery car for hunting at work and one for target practice at home. So much fun! I'm 34 years old and practice shooting spitballs literally every day.
The above was taken with just a standard wet tissue spitball but i make even more deadly ammo. My favorite creation is a metal/skin piercing projectile that i craft using hardened pizza dough, a wood toothpick, and an optional dry wad ov tp to seal in the bore. Here's a pic ov its effectiveness in the .438 piercing through one ov the containers that we use for wings:
I have'nt used one ov these bad boys on prey yet. What it would do to a bee or fly is obvious, but i would'nt want to just wound a small bird with it. I'll stick with hunting flies for now. It's so fun to be able to hunt every day without a license. Someone needs to film me taking out a fly with a spitball in slo-mo!
