Habitat:
Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.

Gills:
Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.

Stem:
Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.

Cap:
Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.

Spore print color:
Very important!

Bruising:
Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.

Other information:
Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

Threw in the waterfall just because it's beautiful :smile:

I THINK they're both boletes. I like the black one, reminds me of bowser from super Mario

The black one is Strobilomyces strobilaceus.

:shrug: it was found near a ton of boletes. All types. That black one. Brown ones red ones, even found a purple bolete! I didn't wanna rip this one up to see if it was a bolete because the color was so vibrant. It was just as vibrant in the shady woods.

I found all types of aminitas that day too. No muscaria tho :frown:

I see some gills on the group of red ones in the 4th picture.  They look like Russulas, though unfortunately I can't see the undersides or stems to confirm it.

Good catch, I haven't noticed them. Definitely Russula in the 4th pic. Not sure about the third pic, but judging by the texture I'd say it's the Bolete from the first pic.

I think you're right about #3.  I can see a little bit of the reticulated stem underneath.
