I think you just have to get lucky and clone it. I’ve been in search of a sporeless oyster for a really long time.

I googled 'melanin in mushrooms' and found a link that suggests melanin containing mushrooms can protect you from radiation. http://schaechter.asmblog.org/schaechter/2013/11/radiation-ahead-eat-a-black-mushroom.html If you think about where in the world people have the most melanin, it makes sense that it helps against radiation. I suppose it has a lot to do with abnormal growth.
Cbk, you should do a small run of that with zero light aside from transfer and spawning and see how they fruit without any radiation at all
Cool article man now I'm going to try to clone the darkest fruit I find instead of the whitest lol

It's most likely from AA+ but I mean the chances that I pulled an albino fruit from a mislabeled APE tub really has me thinking I have to admit

I didn't nail surface conditions or substrate hydration on this one, but this is proof of concept for the 'hot spawn' method where I mixed grains with 150 degree F bucket tek coir. Details in my journal.

I've seen grains from the kitchen sink recover strongly in the compost bin after being drenched in hot water and dish soap. Figured it was worth a try, at the very least it'll shave two unnecessary hours off of the bucket tek.

It's a B+ I isolated from a monster a couple of years ago. It's not as dark as it looks in the picture. I think it's the light in my kitchen making it look so dark. The original was fairly dark too, but not so deformed.
I pulled a BRF cake from a batch about 10 days ago (before mixing them into a bulk sub), put it in a vivarium and surrounded it with coir I had left over, and just left it to its own devices. Didn't mist it or do anything but stick a weight on the lid when it was getting lifted off, and that's the biggest of 5 fruits from the cake. The others aren't too far behind.

I've made up a few more plates from these, to see if I get consistently deformed monsters.

Just transferred about 12 maz plates (mostly from second transfers ive had in the fridge, but a few agar pins too).
I also have one maz plates with small pins that are def white. So i wanna clone them. I have like 8 unused plates left in the fridge, though due to their tiny size the white pins will prolly all go into one plate. Im not sure if a Leucistic/Albino Mazapatec already is in circulation, but if its not, why not add another variety (altho maybe thats what the mexicube albino is)
I also hate how my lighter leaves soot/burnt myc after i flame in between plates. I learned to use that sterile holder for the blades to wipe it off before flaming. But damn those blades get so dark so fast, i guess i need denatured alc for the burner. I have regular lab grade eth (200 proof) and 99% iso
Maybe a torch or some kind of wick. I hate when you wait over 30 seconds after flaming and it leaves a black burn mark where you cut the agar
Since this culture seems super strong anyway, i might just clone the white pins regardless. If they come out good ill call it MazA or something. Its crazy even just the test run i run i did outdoors, which produced pretty typical looking mazapatec but they were APE potent. Like 3 air dried fruit put me, and 2 other people (who usually have an 8th min) out of this world. One of them had just a big 1.5g fruit and needed benzos to end the trip, didnt expect it to be like that
Here a couple adolescent shrooms from the test batch (regular cube color)

As for that wet shroom above, when mine turn out super wet (def happens with outdoor grows and rain) i just let em dry on a paper towel for a few hours. When its hot sometimes theyll just dry almost fully over 1-2 days. Crazy that its a B+ since they mostly turn out the same, those round caps and purple collars.

Why won't these work?
Get a torch for sure. Cuts like 12 seconds off of the flaming and that adds up

Oh i have an alcohol burner but it says to use denatured alc. *shrug* never used it. I might even have two.
I have a dab torch as well. Always figured thatd be a bit overkill
