It depends. My setup up there (total, for everything: speakers, monitor, etc) was roughly $2000. That also includes some of the aftermarket stuff I got like the VGA heatsink and other random goodies. The computer alone cost ~$1200 USD. You have to get a good deal on everything though, otherwise that setup would probably end up around $2500.

How many fans? Is it noisy? It looks pretty sweet. I have a Shuttle SN85G4 with an Athlon64 3200+ 1GB Crucial PC2700 memory Radeon 9600XT 120GB SATA HDD Sony DVD+-RW Drive It's so much quieter than my last one (and about a third of the size) that used to sound like a jet engine. I'd take a pic but the front is too reflective.
-------------------- The above is an extract from my fictional novel, "The random postings of Edame". In the beginning was the word. And man could not handle the word, and the hearing of the word, and he asked God to take away his ears so that he might live in peace without having to hear words which might upset his equinamity or corrupt the unblemished purity of his conscience. And God, hearing this desperate plea from His creation, wrinkled His mighty brow for a moment and then leaned down toward man, beckoning that he should come close so as to hear all that was about to be revealed to him. "Fuck you," He whispered, and frowned upon the pathetic supplicant before retreating to His heavens.

Damn, how much did those speakers cost you?
I'm happy with my 2.2Ghz P4, 1GB RDRAM and 9700 pro. However I would really like to upgrade my sound.

The Klipsch 5.1 Promedia Ultra's cost me exactly $300 (I picked them up). Brand new too! Don't ask me for any "hook-ups" as I can tell you now I can't help you. Suffer: I see you have a Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system. Good choice!

Mine is grey and it consists of two parts - system block and monitor. And it makes the "beep" sound every time I press the button on the system block.

Just got a new laptop this week. I have never felt such strong feelings of love for an inanimate object before. Here's the specs:
Inspiron 9100 P4 3.0GHz, 15.4 in. WSXGA+ 512MB,400MHz 2DIMM 64MB ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 40GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive for Inspiron 9100 4X CD/DVD burner (DVD+RW/+R)
Best part? I payed $1,300 for it when it went on sale. If you price it now, it would cost $1,800. I think they raised the price because the demand for these was high.
Oh yeah, my speakers destroy all yours! THE BATTERY HAS A SUBWOOFER! KLIPSCH DOESN'T SEEM SO AWESOME ANYMORE, HUH!!?!??!1111
(note the sarcasm; while the speakers are great for a laptop, they can't compare with a 5.1 setup)
-------------------- The very nature of experience is ineffable; it transcends cognitive thought and intellectualized analysis. To be without experience is to be without an emotional knowledge of what the experience translates into. The desire for the understanding of what life is made of is the motivation that drives us all. Without it, in fear of the experiences what life can hold is among the greatest contradictions; to live in fear of death while not being alive.

I was thinking of getting this baby in addition to my MX700 (800 dpi, 4.7 mp sensor)... 1000 dpi ! It was either that or the MX510 800 dpi, 5.8 megapixel sensor Unfortunately, the Razer costs $60 shipped and the MX510's are around $50 shipped .
