Outdoors fully shaded with lids only covering half of the tray.
Me find (1-1.5")thin subs good at battling bacteria during the heat. @ faster evaporation and dry-up.
Only hardest part but not with love is 3-4x mist once a day or every other day. Maintaing CBK surface beads as much as me can.

Good info. I would have thought the faster evap/dry-up would make things very difficult but you're working with it as an advantage... helpful to think about in terms of understanding what works

It is more difficult but since he has bacterial spawn or sub, it can be used as an advantage. If you wanted to grow outdoors in tubs, I bet a thicker sub would be more beneficial (as long as you have clean spawn)

Unless I understood him wrong, he doesn't have bacterial spawn. He just said it helps fight any bacteria issues in the high heat.

Spot on man. My spawn are clean in the 1st place. And me monitored their bulk colonization Using it as advantage to prevent bloom. Since heat+stagnantH2O+elevatedCO2 = bacterial bloom.
 Before maturity

Me thinks it can be use too for bacterial spawn thats why we isolate em in the outdoor for some flush.
Oh also to add, me living in hot very humid tropics, usually prepare my sub at slightly dryer than field capacity not the normal 4qrt to 650 coir brix.

Nope I just grind it to a fine powder and add it to the mix.

Pacman you don’t have a homebrewing supply store in your area? I’m lucky that there’s one about 10 minutes from my house.

Unfortunately none. They brew alc & vinegar here in the deep tropics, fermenting straight coconut sap.

Thanks for the reply. Me also do the same. But i sometimes filter.
Me also used this from last grow, found my culture loves this sprouts as an alternative to malt extract for semi transparency.

Although a bit hassle to make a jar lasted me close to a year.

Well that makes sense. Malt is just sprouted grains. Sprouting turns the starch to sugar.

Spot on, to my suprise my culture also love bean sprouts. Instead of grains.
Me also loves high lysine beans(legumes) without the anti-nutrients by sprouting = yum.

No we don't. we just wanna see u grow some shit. Cook ur grains the right way. Make ur kids the right way. Fill ur jars the right way. Instead of trying to do it however u want.
If u get moisture in ur grain right and a proper filter for ur jars those would be ready to spawn by now

The only thing that I see that needs improvement is that your jars are too full to shake.
