pin formation
    #2535354 - 04/07/04 03:37 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

after the first flush does it take cakes the same amount of time to form pins?

do you think i'd be able to have a second flush ready to pick before sunday the 11th? i picked and dunked them yesterday.

if not some one suggested leaving them in the fridge while i was away. If i put them in tonight and leave them til the 15th or 16th they'd be okay to fruit? thanks

If you are saying you picked them on the 6th, then yes, I think it would be possible to begin your second flush by then, but I don't know about them being ready to pick and harvest at that time. I can see them just beginning to pin around then. Whats the hurry, are you leaving town? If so, you can slow things down by putting them into the fridge, just give them a good dunk whenever you get back and but them into the fruiting chamber again. I would hope the refridgeration would slow things down long enough for until you get back, or else you'd have a mess of spores floating around your fridge and some decaying caps. Good luck :-)
