Stalled (overly wet) mono - fruit it or wait?
    #25342623 - 07/23/18 05:52 PM (2 years, 9 months ago)

Got a tub of golden teacher, wbs spawned to coir, that is stalled. For sure I made the sub to wet, I see that now.
After about 2 weeks it stalled and for the next 2 weeks its been incredibly slow. I know stalling is often signs of contams but since it stalled I've seen no signs of them and it has continued to colonize some of the small areas it hadn't before so I am guessing and really hoping its just because my coir is too wet.

Its been a month since I spawned it and I would estimate its at around 96-98% colonized. Theres a few spots on the bottom corners that the myc hasn't finished going through yet and a few areas on the top where it looks a bit thinner than in others but still I would say myc is over it. The only little chunks of coir without myc touching it are those small spots in the bottom corners.

After this much time, assuming its genuinely only stalled because of too much water, should I continue to wait or just fruit it already? Clearly I've been letting it continue but I get nervous after this much time.

Fruit it? Even with those little patches on the bottom not colonized?

The new trend is to fruit at spawn.  Nothing is colonized at spawn EXCEPT the spawn.

Fruit that biotch like Mushboy said!

Yes they're serious. It's been shown, in most cases, to lead to faster colonization and pinning times with little to no consequence on yield. All personal preference though
