Ok cool thanks. Won’t make that mistake twice. I appreciate the advice
I’m my situation, will they bounce back? Or do mushrooms have a point of no return?as far as heat goes

Mycelium, especially P Cubensis, is pretty resilient.  You can kill it with heat but I suspect you’re ok.  Give it some time and see if it bounces back.  It may not but only time will tell!

You’re better off in cooler (60-70 degrees F) than warm (80 plus) temperatures.

It grows in Florida. 90 is more than ok.

That’s true but everything I’ve read on here says 90 F is too hot for indoor cultivation; that they do best from 65-75, and anything over that can be problematic.  For a new cultivator it’s just another possible source of error.  90 degrees outdoors growing wild is different imo.

At this point I can definitely say the heat has stopped the growth. Last week was much cooler barely getting up to 80 degrees and that’s when the cakes were flourishing

I've grown in temps of mid 90's no problem. Heat doesn't stop growth.

The problem with temps above 80 is things like bacteria can grow faster than myc. But you can absolutely grow in those temps.

I stuck 9 cakes in my humidity chamber a week ago.  Not even one pin.  I think i'm seeing some fuzzy mold on them.  Any ideas?

My other cakes stalled after putting these in there... what's the deal?

Eh, it's got a place and I think I been a bit edgy lately. I don't think it was called for here, you weren't being a stubborn ass.

Steve I think you just need patience man. That growth looks ok and it can take around 2 weeks to see pins.

@steve, do you have the lid flipped? IDK man??? This is mine after a week:

Looks like you might have some knots coming in on the top of the 1st pic though.

Yeah it's flipped. First round went pretty good with my other cakes.  Just dunked and stuck them back in.  18 hour dunk on the second go.

I'll try to get a closer shot of the areas that appear to be cobwebish

This tek is amazing! I was worried about my cakes drying out at first (first grow so I’m a bit paranoid ) but my fruits are pinning and growing like crazy now! I see tons of new myc growth, knots, primordia, and pins since putting them in the HC less than two days ago.

All I’ve done is flipped the lid and kept it at a slight angle. I mist the bottom verm layer well for added moisture now and then. (Probably not even needed, but it doesn’t hurt either )

Here’s some progress pics! Top pic is when I first put them in the HC, bottom pic is this morning.

Edit: the biggest pin started invitro and was barely hanging onto a strand of myc when it was dunking. I just knew that sucker was gonna fall off or stop growing but he is flourishing in his HC!

Whoa, this tek is working out great so far for my first grow.

Some of my cakes have some blue bruising, not sure if that's from my handling them a bit or a lack of moisture. But they seem to be developing pins and growing like crazy so, I don't think it's the moisture.

Does anybody have and suggestions for how to elevate my cakes on the aluminum? I keep having issues of the water getting in the foil. I was using my jar lids at first but a lot of pins that were at the bottom of the cake were being squished

@mush :fonz:

@panflake Foil size should match the circumference of your cakes.

I had the exact same issue.

I wrapped some lids in foil and placed the cakes on that.

Ya I fixed that but now the coco is so wet and the weight of the cake pushes the foil down and letting water seep in
