my idea was to use niv mizzet and ral with psychic corrosion. I think I only have one or two of the other cards trying to work with what I got instead of spending actual cash.

Hey all! Sorry for neglecting this thread so much, I just got done playing the most hilarious game I’ve probably ever played on arena and decided to make a post.
After building every tier 1 and 2 deck in the current meta and playing those into oblivion, I decided to build some weird home brews. Here is the one I got done testing to much success. I call it... Phoenix Storm!
Opt x2 Crash Through x4 Warlord’s Fury x4 Chart a Course x4 Radical Idea x4 Runaway Steam-Kin x4 Tormenting Voice x4 Goblin Electromancer x4 Risk Factor x4 Archlight Phoenix x4 Island x3 Mountain x11 Steam Vents x4 Sulfur Falls x4
The whole deck is based around getting as many Archlight Phoenix’s in your graveyard as possible then storming them into play. Chart a Course and Tormenting Voice let you discard, so does Jump-Starting Radical Idea and Risk Factor. Goblin Electromancer and Runaway Steam-Kin both enable you to storm off like crazy, if you have two Steam-Kins out casting through half of your deck in one turn isn’t unrealistic. Not much more to say, it’s pretty straight forward, it’s a one trick pony that won’t work all the time but when it does it’s something beautiful to behold.

I got a lot of random homebrew decks I’ve been playing I wanna share with you all but I figured I’d keep it to one a day. Here’s a Combo/Control deck I’ve been having some fun with, I call it “Opps, Angels!”
Dawn of Hope x4 Chart a Course x2 Negate x1 Search for Azcanta x2 Saproling Migration x4 Sinister Sabotage x3 Settle the Wrekage x4 Chemister’s Insight x4 Spore Swarm x4 Cleansing Nova x4 Divine Visitation x4 Plains x3 Island x2 Memorial to Genius x2 Glacial Fortress x4 Meandering River x1 Sunpetal Grove x4 Temple Garden x4 Hinderland Harbor x4
The whole deck is based around surviving until you can draw and resolve Divine Visitation. Once Visitation resolves you just create a laughable number of angels with your Saproling Migration and Spore Swarm, or even with Dawn of Hope. The deck runs 8 board wipes so it’s pretty easy to out resource aggro and midrange decks try to win on the board but control decks are a bit more even of a match. Until Divine Visitation shows up Dawn of Hope is a serious MVP, this card does everything. It draw us cards faster than most control deck ever could, it creates us blockers and gains us life against aggro decks, and applies pressure and can grind out against slower control decks. Runs counter magic to make sure your plans go off with out a hitch and plenty of draw to help you find Divine Visitation. Worse case scenario you can even use your token spells in a pinch for chunk blocks. I made this deck as a meme but found it to be surprisingly good. Not settled on the landbase.

Next in my series of weird off meta jank I’ve brewed... Golgari Elfball!
Llanowar Elves x4 Pelt Collector x4 Druid of the Cowl x4 Elvish Clancaller x4 Thorn Lieutenant x4 Find // Finality x3 Swarm Guardian x2 Marwyn, the Nurturer x3 Steel Leaf Champion x 4 Beast Whipserer x4 Poison-Tip Archer x4 Forest x12 Overgrown Tomb x4 Woodland Cemetery x4
I brewed this deck both mono green and Green Black but decided I liked the Green Black version better. I found Find // Finality, Swarm Guildmage, and Poison-Tip Archer to be just too good not to add, they just made the much more reliant than its mono green counterparts. Both decks just look to spam the board with elf’s and swing sometimes the board can get bogged down. Swarm Guildmage helps break those stalemates by giving all your creatures +1/0 and menace while Poison-Tip Archer also helps solve complicated boards by putting your opponent in the awkward position of having to choose between taking damage from swings or Archer triggers. Many times if you have two archers and a handful of creatures that can mean game unless your opponent can exile your creatures despite whatever their boardstate is. Find // Finality is also an amazing addition because it lets me you pull your best elves back from the graveyard, you will rarely ever use the Finality side of the card. But ya, pretty straight forward besides that, Elfball is Elfball. Might need to work on the mana, sometimes blacks a little hard to find.

This next deck isn’t of my own creation, but it’s just to torturously fabulous to keep to myself, I present, Oops! Rainbow Lich!! I’m gonna say right now, this deck is straight evil and wrong; but damned does it make my soul dance.
Revitalize x4 Search for Azcanta x1 Discovery // Dispersal x4 Assassin's Trophy x2 Gift of Paradise x4 Chance for Glory x4 Settle the Wreckage x3 Mastermind's Acquisition x2 Vraska's Contempt x1 Cleansing Nova x2 The Mirari Conjecture x3 Lich's Mastery x3 Plains x1 Island x1 Swamp x1 Isolated Chapel x4 Drowned Catacomb x1 Watery Grave x2 Steam Vents x1 Sulfur Falls x1 Dragonskull Summit x1 Overgrown Tomb x3 Woodland Cemetery x1 Sacred Foundry x1 Sunpetal Grove x2 Temple Garden x3 Hinderland Harbor x2 Gateway Plaza x1
Sideboard: Duress x4 Nature's Spiral x1 Deafening Clarion x1 Knight of Autumn x3 The Mirari Conjecture x1 Carnage Tyrant x2 The Immortal Sun x1 Nezahal, Prinal Tide x1 Banefire x1 Looking at this list it might just look like a random pile of jank, I’m not going to tell it’s not, because it is, but that’s why it’s so beautiful. I guess I’ll just get to the point. As you might be able to guess from the name, the whole deck is based off Lich’s Mastery, a very strange and risky card. It’s a 6 drop enchantment with hexproof that makes it so you can’t loose the game, additionally, whenever you gain life, you draw that many card, and whenever you take damage you either discard that many cards or sacrifice up to that many permanents, if Lich’s Mastery leaves the board, you lose the game. So basically the only way you can lose after Lich’s Mastery hits the board is if your opponent resolves a cleansing Nova, or if you take enough damage to have to sacrifice your Lich’s Mastery. So that’s all we’ll and good, but how do we win? How can we abuse Lich’s Mastery?
The easiest answer is life-gain, Revitalize suddenly draws us 4 card and gains us 3 life for just two mana, same goes for Gift of Paradise and Vraskas Contempt. Chance for Glory also becomes laughably good once you have Lich’s Mastery because now it’s just a 3 mana take an extra turn spell. But what’s better than extra turns? Infinite turns! Chance for Glory, The Mirari Conjecture, and Nature’s Spiral create an infinite turn look, here’s how! Set Up: Before you start the combo use Mastermind’s Acquisition to wish Nature’s Spiral out of your sideboard. Turn 1: Play Chance for Glory and The Mirari Conjecture using it to bring Chance for Glory back to hand. Turn 2: Return Mastermind’s Acquisition with The Mirari Conjecture, play Chance for Glory again, Play a second Mirari Conjecture again returning Chance for Glory to hand. Turn 3: Play Chance For Glory, Return The Mirari Conjecture from your GY with Nature’s Spiral and play it again returning Chance for Glory. Turn 4: Return Nature’s Spiral with The Mirari Conjecture, use Nature’s Spiral to return the second Conjecture to hand. Play Chance for Glory, then return it to hand by playing the second Conjecture you just returned. From here you’ve gone infinite. One you’re done playing with your food, just use the Master’s Acquisition you got back on turn 2 to wish for Banefine out of your sideboard and use it when The Mirari Conjecture is on chapter 3 two double blast your opponent for a shit ton of uncountable damage.
Besides that Assassin’s Trophy, Settle the Wreckage, Cleansing Nova keep us alive, Chemister’s Insight Search for Azcanta and Discovery // Dispersal help us dig. I’d try not to use Gift of Paradise or Revitalize until you Lich’s Mastery lands so you don’t miss out on the card draw, but if you need to use them early game don’t worry, Gift is Paradise gives us some ramp and mana fix while Revitalize draws us more cards and they both give us 3 health.
If you have the means to play this deck and a wicked soul like mine, I truly can’t express just how horribly, hilariously, fun and cruel this deck can be. Especially now because no one knows what the fuck you’re playing so they just sit there and let you do terrible, horrible, naughty things to them. By the time they realize what’s going on it’s too late.

I've been having a lot of fun with goblins lately. creating a bunch of tokens beefing them up or using them as suicide bombers. pulling off a mnuemonic whatever its called late game for a win is been a fun victory.

Today I’ve been playing this weird esper combo deck.
Basically you just draw your whole deck then set up infinite turns with Nexus of Fate and win with Chromium, the Mutable.
Opt x4 Revitalize x4 Anticipate x4 Radical Idea x4 Search for Azcanta x2 Discovery // Dispersal x4 Ritual of Rejuvenation x4 Settle the Wreckage x2 Chemister’s Insight x2 Primal Amulet x3 Cleansing Nova x4 Nexus of Fate x2 Chromium, the Mutable x1 Plains x4 Island x8 Memorial to Folly x1 Memorial to Glory x1 Glacial Fortress x4 Drowned Catacomb x4
Every single card in the deck draws you cards except for Settle the Wreckage, Cleansing Nova, Primal Amulet, Nexus of Fate, Chromium, the Mutable. Primal Amulet is a lot of fun, 4 cost artifact that makes your instants and sorceries cost less and after you cast four, flips into Primal Wellspring, a land that copies your instants and sorceries. Cleansing Nova and Settle the Wreckage takes care of most aggro decks and just in case Revitalize and Ritual of Rejuvenation both gain is a lot of life, especially when doubled with Primal Wellspring. Control decks are pretty easy to take care of, you out draw them and you don’t really care if they counter anything of yours and they give you the time you need to combo off. Combo decks are your worst matchup but again, you should outdraw them, your combo just takes longer to set up because it involves literally drawing your whole deck.

I've played a mill deck against a deck like this. I milled down to where the opponent didn't have a win condition and just kept taking turns over and over with Nexus until I conceded. Happened to me twice, though I stuck around the second time until he conceded, realizing it was a stalemate and I wasn't going anywhere. Was pretty stupid if you ask me.
I'm mostly f2p for the exception of the $5 one time deal. Been playing for a little over a month now. I enjoy it though I wish there were more to do for gold besides the daily challenges. I'll do a draft once I have 5k gold or 750 gems but rarely ever get more than 3 wins so it's a bit of a grind to be able to draft every week.

Just started playing again the other day after months, Been playing around with this brew. Just a solid, sadistic control deck.
Negate x1 Search for Azcanta x2 Cast Down x3 Moment of Craving x1 Thought Erasure x4 Cry of the Carnarium x2 Absorb x3 Mortify x3 Chemister’s Insight x3 Vraska’s Contempt x3 Karn, Scion of Urza x1 The Eldest Reborn x1 Teferi, Hero of Dominaria x4 Island x1 Swamp x1 Glacial Fortress x4 Hallowed Fountain x4 Godless Shrine x4 Isolated Chapel x4 Drowned Catacomb x4 Watery Grave x4
It’s able to answer just about any deck with ease, The only issue I’m running into is having a solid finisher.
I’d like to play around with the list a bit so I can fit a second Karn and Eldest Reborn, Because Teferi in himself isn’t exactly a win condition even you have excited your opponent whole board as long and they are willing to call you on it because you will likely deck yourself first.

Anyone going to a midnight prerelease for Theros tonight?
I spoiled most commons/uncommon and started watching some about the rares/mythics.
This will be the first set I've drafted with constellation and escape mechanics, should be interesting.
I'm happy to see some full art lands are available, may collect a set for drafting if I dig the arts.
