Mycelium generates its own heat so it should be a few degrees warmer in the tub than outside the tub naturally. The picture might not show it but there is moisture build up on my walls and lids, just not around the holes because of fresh air causing evaporation.

i don't think so. i've seen this happen quite a few times lately and it's some what of a mystery but i think it probably has to do with bacteria. I'm not sure though. i plan on busting out my scope in a few days and taking a look at a culture that is doing this

Just for the record, I believe limiting fae and keeping co2 high is ideal during sub colonization. Just in case you didn't know.
Maybe others do it different, but I don't normally mist until after the top layer is mostly or all the way colonized. Not sure if you were misting from day one or anything or what. Noticed you said first grow.
If you have been misting a lot, I think over misting / misting directly possibly would cause matting, not sure if matting is your problem or not myself
I would recommend limiting far during colonization, then slightly increasing FAE and beghining to mist when needed once top layer is mostly colonized.

What’s the weather like down there? I have a print and I’m contemplating trying to grow some outdoors. I know that since it’s an island it will be more humid than where I am, but I really want to grow some. Last year I started some on agar, and then to grain, and then to oak sawdust, but I stupidly didn’t pasteurize a larger batch of sawdust that I tried to expand the smaller batch to. Trich city. Lost my culture and have to start from spores again.

I’ve got two plates of shroomy’s A+ going that I just transferred. One pin clone and one wedge. I don’t see any bacteria in the culture. I’m interested to see what happens with my grow. The culture is really aggressive so far. Loves the dog food agar and is throwing some fat rhizomorphs.

Wait. Shouldn’t you have the rings on those if you’ve got em outside your SAB? And those look kinda full too.
