CookieCrumbs said: Nah I mean otters are born next to the water and go swimming with its mother within the first few days after their eyes open. If I'm not mistaken that's about when they're a month old. I understand why it was scared but why didn't its human caretakers try to familiarize the baby to water sooner?
Clearly this one was not born near water... He though of himself as the first animal he saw. Therefore his sexual desires are allready fucked up from the get fgo... If that otter saw a dog first instead of his mother, he will think it is a dog and will imitate what the dog does. If the dog is scared of water, the baby otter will be TERRIFIED of water.. If that otter reaches sexual maturity, it will seek sexual partner in dogs instead of other otter... Babies born outside their natural environement don't understand the concept of reflection. They automatically think they are the first animal they saw because that how nature works. You a entirely supposed to see your mother or father at first, clinching inside the animal's brain it's identity.
The idea has been floated around (vaguely) to humans attracted sexually attracted to animal were more than likely too expesod to farm animal as a infant simply by being strapped to their mothers chest looking straight ahead for mong periods of time. They only see horse, pigs, etc. Therefore they're natural reproductive instinc start identifying with the animals he sees. Should that infant see a stuf impregnant many females, without being turned around to look the other way (his a baby right, what's the worse that could hapen, he doesn't understand what's going on....) well, turns out, he's understanding what he is witnessing.
Enough. About the subject. No more typing for a while for me
Pat. I understand why it was afraid of water. I don't understand what sexuality has to do with this.
Are you sure you're okay bud? Sounds like maybe you should consider another trip to the hospital to see a neurologist.
I'm not giving you shit man. You haven't sounded like yourself lately.
I haven't been myself in 15 years.
I was drugged on anti-depressors.
The doc said I do NOT belong on anti depressors. Holy fuck was he right on this one.

I already had 2, plus my mom, dad and ste dad.
They all agree that I have changed for the better. I used to be lazy, unambitious and lack motivation. Sudenlly 12 days off anti-derepssors I got all of it back... 15 years ago studies didn't know not to mix antidepressors with the archaic bi-polar meds of the time.
My new doc defintely knew and IMMEDIATELY took out the anti depressors from the equation.
It has been the biggest thing that ever happened in my life.

Maybe my favorite memory from canoe camping days is being awakened by a cacophany of manic squeaks. I sat up, looked around and saw a mother otter with her half dozen pups playing across the river.
They would chase each other around in the water, then run single file up the river bank, scurry across the bank, finally shooting down a steep muddy slide before splashing into the water.
Extremely cute and a joy to watch.
Otters seem to be creatures that really know how to enjoy their lives in the wild. I'm highly skeptical that keeping an otter as a pet does anything for the otter other than deprive it of that joy.
