I used cultures that were only one transfer away from clone tissue (invitro clones) and used cultures that were a transfer away from germination plates. I stressed for no reason like a real noob and tried skipping steps so the cultures I used for blenderless LI might not have been clean cultures. I honestly still don’t know what this contamination is

3L doesn’t sound like nearly enough for 700g of coir... I use 3.5L on a 650 gram brick if I don’t use verm, and that ends up on the drier side for me and its humid as hell here

You sure you measured properly? I had that happen to me once when I used 5l on 1 brick

That’s how it worked for me all the other times with the same bricks and same method, 3.5L for near optimum and 3L for drier. This time coir soup with 3L
I swear weird things have been happening lately but I’m not gonna go into that. Buying more coir and trying again.
@mb that’s exactly how it looks like I put 5L in it but I put three I know this. Fuck it, coir is at least cheap here

Is ot just not absorbing it or is it over field capacity? If it's not absorbing it try to heat it again you may need to squeeze the water into it

After I worked it with my hands for 30min 95% was crumbeled like it’s suppose to be but still the volume of the coir was nowhere near what I usually get from a brick and 3L... I guess I’m the only one who’s experienced this so far. Some weird shit

Yes you can put them on top of each other like a dome, or simply a lid or plastic bag over the tub. Depends on your substrate depth and fruit size!

My shoeboxes (tubs) are about 7 inches high and no problem fruiting with the lid on. If mushrooms start pushing against the lid then create more space! It’s not a definitive decision that you have to take before spawning

I'll just bag them if they get too large and need the space!
Thanks a lot mateah, panic over

I’ve don’t tons of mini monos (guess everyone’s calling them shoeboxes now ) and never had a mushroom touch the lid, but that’s because I always did them with PEU or APE. Mini monos are great for those varieties since the mushrooms stay pretty short. I think they’re great for growing in limited space.
PEU packs a big punch in a small package!

Shoeboxes are typically shorter and unmodified

Yeah shoeboxes are what they are - totes made for storing shoes and they are the size of a shoebox
Mini-monos are generally 20-40qt or around there

I use 45 quart tubs from Costco and they have the same footprint as your typical 66qt tub — just not as tall. The extra height on a 66 quart tub just isn’t necessary IMO and the ones I get are 15 bucks for a 3 pack. I got my mini monos from bed, bath, and beyond. 15 quart. A little bigger than a shoebox but nice and compact all the same.

I have heard that the mycelium also contains psilocybin. Is it possible to do an extraction from used substrates or cakes after they have finished fruiting?

Unfortunately, that Nu Muang clone culture I had posted in a shoebox does have vert riding along. Harvested this tub and trashed it. Was a decent clone for big shrooms too. Seems that the infection is parasitic in that the caps are all smaller than normal
