Soooo... all this talk of petri dishes... I've been reading through Josex's stuff... wondering if anyone has a good source for these containers he's using.
(I would ask him but I'm the only user he is ignoring... :o)
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/25137693#25137693
If anyone finds a good source for those I would appreciate it.
I will definately look later. Gotta run for now though.

Nothing too fancy but I’ll be in good shape for grain masters now. This is my favorite way to do it. I don’t like quart jars. Pint jars get small grains like millet or milo, and each pint jar is used to inoculate a spawn bag. Right now I’m not expanding the pints into more pints. Each pint is inoculated with a MS wedge. Right now I’m trying to find good clone candidates.

You use a whole colonized pint jar per bag? 2/3 full I presume?
I use a single 2/3 full quart master to noc a half dozen bags. Seems a bit labor intensive to make so many jars per individual bag imo.
Regardless, great to see ya still rocking Eno mush love

Nice.
I like that you have a method down most of all. (I'm a big fan of having a "system" and working around it... makes life easier.)
Good stuff.

It's all good.
You found SOMETHING... which is more than I found when I pawned my homework off to everyone else. *cringe*
(^^^^^ I thought about that as I was falling asleep… I was like "Damn... I think Josex even said some shit in that write-up/TEK about you should be able to find your own shit or something like that"... and realized I was a lazy fuck... ughhh… no wonder I'm ignored. lol... what's the abbreviation for "chuckles slightly under breath"?... as I csub…)
I will write them and ask.
Good lookin' out.
I appreciate your efforts.
- - - - -
That does bring something up though... from how everyone exploded over those celltreat petri dishes... you guys must be balls deep into testing genetics or something... I don't know... it seems like the no-pour stuff would be more popular... ESPECIALLY since you can't re-use those particular dishes (they're polystyrene... soo... no autoclaving that shit) <<<< I mean... not EASILY reusable... they're disposable... I get that and all... I guess I should just ask... VVVVV
Why do more people go with that instead of something like the smaller containers that can be autoclaved/no-poured, cost less, and seem to be more functional as far as containing contamination (less to throw out if one gets fucked)... I was fixing to list a bunch of shit here... trying not to write a book...
I can see using larger dishes for growing a culture way the fuck out though.
But, then it would seem like it is best to cut that up in to hundreds of tiny diamonds and start moving them in to small, "damn sure these are sterilized", containers... IDK though... I almost dread asking this out in the open... should probably PM this... being an idiot today.

(*Edit 1 - Syntax and phrasing.)
PP does mean polypropylene... BUT, there are variants within that family. Sometimes they are proprietary variants as well.
Shit like "Nalgene Polypropylene", or sub-variants/descriptors like "Nalgne 2105".
What I hate is that there is no "standard"... not a mandated "you will use this fucking term, period" type of standard. It makes things... tedious...
It's like refresh rates with TV's these days. All kinds of fucked up because the industry isn't regulated to HAVE to say "this is the actual refresh rate in hz". Instead it's some in-house shit like "Clear Motion Dual Omni Action Enhanced 1020hz Fast Frame Deluxe Motion Enhancement"... but the actual refresh rate is 60hz in HDM1...
Well, it's not quite that bad... but the fact that I have to email them now is proof enough that it's gay.
Side-note, here's your symbol chart:

(Starbucks cups are PP5, btw... found that out the other day... a lot of peanut butter jar lids... lots of shit... looking in to using heated xylene to reconstitute things... to melt them down and mold them in to other things... but that project is filed away in the memory banks for a much later time...).

He said he didn't like quarts...so that's 1...
He's also expanding pints to more pints with wedges... so that's 2 (<<<<< not talking about noc'n bags at all at that point.).
And then throwing a pint in each spawn bag. (<<<<< Which is completely understandable ESPECIALLY since he didn't say HOW BIG/MUCH each bag is...)
"He's systematically trying to do somthing" <<<<< is the first thought I had after getting to that point... and then... well, just look:
Right now I’m trying to find good clone candidates.
Eureka.
He's not trying to amplify efforts with G2G transfers...
My boy is putting in that lab work, yo.

In the product description:
"These handy containers may be steam-sterilized, hot-filled, and fast-frozen without affecting their strength and performance."
^^^^^ THAT is a good thing although it sometimes doesn't mean that they can hold up to sterilization temperatures past X amount of time. BUT, it's a great place to start.
Then the description further states:
"The handy Snap-lock Lid ensures a positive seal that reseals tightly time after time."
^^^^^ So, this is dope AF. Most of these small containers (4oz) have screw tops or their snap on lids are not ones that will hold up. BUT... this one you found... this may win the tiny container contest. I mean, hell... these may be the new best way to "tiger drop" and to run Josex's method of doing things... maybe...
Still writing them... but yo... you may have found the grail.
Holy shit.

Likewise buddy! Yeah I use a 2/3 full pint per bag. Mostly because it colonizes really fast. Not that labor intensive either, if you expand that one pint jar into 10 before going to bags, but I’m not doing that because I’m trying to select some good clones with which to scale things up. Also, using a single jar per bag mitigates my losses if one of those jars happens to be contaminated.

Runs on 150 watts. Equivalent to a 600 watt HID without all the heat. It has several different types of diodes. Red, blue, white, IR, and UV.
I need to put some thought into how I design my fruiting area so it doesn’t heat up too much. I’ll probably end up having a fan on the floor sucking in outside air near the humidifier, and vents up top for heat to escape. The light has built in cooling fans too.
