G2G on WBS jars are too dry, what are my options?
    #25316116 - 07/09/18 02:29 AM (6 years, 6 months ago)

I stated by making 5 WBS jars and knocking them up with a MS syringe. 2/5 of those became mold pucks but with the remaining 3 i made 2 shoeboxes and went g2g with 6 more WBS jars. Only problem is I didn't soak them long enough and they seem very dry. Growth has been stagnant for days. Should I pop them and add sterilized water in my SAB? Or use a syringe through the poly fil? Would hate to start over since the MS syringe to the WBS is such a crapshoot.

If you want to salvage what you can use a syringe with sterile water to add moisture but as you will hear just learn agar in time just practice

So. . . why are you doing wbs MS crapshoots? is this a side project?

Toss em and start over with agar if not.

I actually have made 2 dozen agar dishes in anticipation of this harvest for cloning. My issue is all that I have is MS syringes or dried shrooms to innoc with, so unless I can squirt the syringe into my dehydrator or directly into the agar I'll have to get a flush somehow before going that route.

Edit:  wow, just realized I can pluck a colonized grain from my jar for the agar. Here we go!
