Computer Fans in terrarium?
    #2530840 - 04/06/04 08:13 AM (19 years, 10 months ago)

Hey my foaf has a couple casings almost done, he has a bubbler system, 2 airpumps with geolite on the bottom, I told him that he would still need to fan since that air exchange wouldn't be enough, so he was wondering if he installs 2 comp. fans one sucking in air and one blowing out in the terrarium, would that be enough fanning, and btw should he put filters on the fans? and if yes what type of filters can he use, he thought of tyvek but he doesnt really know, he also thought of an airmask on each fan, or even one of those regular filters for the bathroom fan extractor, any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

that's overkill in my opinion unless he is not going to run the fans very long. Remember that a drop in humidity can cause aborts and a strong wind can blow your humidity right out or your terrarium. A small fan sucking in air through a filter or inside to circulate the air should work fine. I would also use a timer. A friedn has excellent result just using a dual outlet aquarium pump. One pump shoots air into the left sied and the other shoots it into the right.
