i dont think thats how that works
How do you mean? I'm gonna let the big ones open up a bit more before putting them on to print. Hopefully out of one of those prints, or the original print, I can get the phenotype I'm looking for.
I’ve got the genes for the stubby mutants. I’ll either grow out a tub and print one for you or give you a portion of my print. As noted above there is some controversy regarding if KSSS IS the stubby mutant or if the stubby mutant is a mutation of KSSS...

I have a print from Myceliups labeled Koh samui, it was my understanding that is the typical cube phenotype variety and that KSSS is the mutant. However, as Psilo has mentioned before, the major spore vendors all show pictures of normal cubes on the KSSS page. But, if you search through the forums and older grow logs, the majority of KSSS grows have all been the mutants
Confusing to say the least

Hell yea I'd love a print. I can be patient so you don't have to split one, no problem. Still got plenty of prints to run and trying to get a clean APE culture from your swabs.
I have no real clue on this KSS v KS debate. I didn't know there was one till now. I just wanna try some of these mutants. Thank man.

I've always thought that KSSS was the flying saucer looking muties. I've seen a few post of KSSS grows that look like normal cubes. I am completely confused as to what is KS and what is KSSS.

Well put psilo. Worded better imo. But from my vendor syringe i get only the cool potent stubby dense guys and from a print trade all i get is plain ol' cubes
The difference is Koh samui And Koh samui super strain It only makes sense that the super strain is the dense potent ones, does it not? I think somewhere down the line someone didn't know there was a regular koh samui and labeled their prints ksss

I did both the Koh samui(ks),and the Koh samui super strain(ksss)in the early 2000's. I noticed a difference then, but everything was MS so who knows how I got what I got.

I found the KSSS hard to grow. And the fruiting bodies were hard as a rock. I have a few jars of it growing out now. Going to run it in my GH with high temps and humidity > 95%. Don't know anything about the potency because I never ate any from my one grow.

That koh samui I got many years ago was from a non shroomery vendor. I was when I was really starting to get into it.
It wasn't the ksss. Just a normal cube. But I took many clones and prints over the years. The print you got was from my KS LC 5 years old and still kicking lol. Always great reviews all around. Lot of people say they've (died) from it lol.

If you go to THE or other vendors and search their inventory for Koh Samui Super Strain you will not find pictures or descriptions that match those super stubby flying saucer mutants. Similarly if you search for KSSS images here or on the internet most of what you will encounter are not the flying saucers. However, the last time I had this discussion, I tracked down a source of the mutant flying saucer variety... and I can share some of those spores with you since you clearly on the hunt for them...

That "chamber" back then was a closet lined with plastic and shelves.Open air GH style. I cased back then with 50/50 pasteurized peat/verm.

Most of the grow logs I see on here when I type KSSS into the search bar bring the short mutant kind up
Here’s a post by FooMan saying somewhat the opposite of what it seems to be here

Ok this is too funny! At least one vendor refers to the stubby pheno as the “Koh Samui CLASSIC”

(I don’t know if they are a Shroomery sponsor so I apologize to the mods in advance if they are not)
