Nice Spellbound! I wish mine would flower. It's in their time range but it's just been too cloudy and wet.

You have some beauties there and I'd like you to know your Opuntia ficus indica seeds are now almost all about 3ft but 1 is packed full and reaching 4".

Can green sand be added to container grown plants without issue? I'm sure it varies in ratio plant to plant, but what's too much in a container?

I never liked dyed sand or rocks but I've seen many long term collectors/growers use it and I've never heard anyone say it caused any issues. You talking about that cheap shit you buy at the dollar stores?

Rich glauconite source. But really lets the soil breathe. Great for clay gardens. Just wondering about in containers.

Forgot to add. If you're talking about mixing up potting soil with normal sand for drainage it's not a good idea. Sand helps ground soil drain faster but keeps potting soil in containers moist longer and more unevenly wet is not mixed with proper amendments like stone (Tiny stones are called coarse sand where I buy mine, works great if that's what you're referring to), perlite, pumus etc.

Finally! :dancer:
I have lots of germination on my Tobacco!
Even if it's too late I'm proud.

I've sown three very Awesome different types of cacti.
Some little turd stow away plant that obviously is not a cacti is the only germination so far.
It's only been three days so time will tell.
Super excited.

Everything's is pumping out. :awesomenod:
Maters.
Cucumbers.
Gladiolus.
Black Eyed Susan.
Aji pineapple.
Jalapeño.
Bishops hat.
Got a flower show on my ghosts peppers.
Chocolate habanero.

My agave has literally doubled in size.

Aloe mother shot out another puppy.

Penelope the trichocereus's puppy has gotten huge. Mold has not spread. Like y'all said it wouldn't. I'll post a picture tomorrow.

I'm getting a lot of blooms on my squash but no squash.
Should I try to self pollinate them?

I'm also sad I have no blooms on my morning Glory's yet! :frown:
They are spreading well and plenty of room to go.

Sunflower's are a little behind.
But that's my fault.

Purple basil cutting finally rooted.

Had to pimp slap a few Japanese beetle.
The nerve.
Munching on my leafs the way they did.
I applied some well diluted neem oil and filled up the bird feeder with their favorite.
Sunflower's seeds.
I was going to hang a bag trap but they seem to be losing numbers or avoiding my neem oil laced plants.

Surprisingly the slugs have been minimal.
Laid some bait early in the year and haven't seen them since.
Suckers.

Hope everyone has been doing well.
Hope the plants and fungi are doing better! :sunny:

Peace, Love, and Chicken Grease!

Japanese beetles and birds digging in my containers are my battles this year. The slugs seemed to move on once summer hit.

Happy harvest man :hatsoff:

Back from vacation. Drove from south TX to northern California round trip was 5,000 miles. Made many stops along the way buying plants. Bought a bunch of cactus and succulents in Tucson, visited Saguaro ntl park, drove through Joshua tree ntl park, San Francisco/golden gate, Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden, sacred succlents, Humboldt redwood forest/rockafeller forest/Avenue of the giants, drove the 395 south, Albuquerque botanical garden, + several other random stops and places in between. I ended up having to mail 2 large boxes of plants home and carted 4 more boxes in the truck.  Space in the truck was getting tight to say the least. All the plants survived and are planted.

Drove out to my trich garden and wow 3 weeks and a lot of rain really made them grow.

A couple weeks before I left I planted 25 brugmansia cuttings..came home and all 25 are rooted and growing. The already established plants are about to flower again.

The big Kratoms need trimming and smallish 2ft-3ft need to be planted or at least put in big totes.

All 5 of my Epithelantha bokei are flowering along with several lophs..some are on their 6th or 7th flush of flowers, it's been nonstop since March.

Now it's time to plan out the next adventures..maybe big bend in the fall/winter again and Peru or Bolivia next summer

Hope everyone is doing swell and plants are happy.

That sounds killer pine. Welcome back bro. Saguaro is so nice. The bugs were really bad at night when we arrived, and it was really hot, although we caged ourselves in the tent w blankets because they were going so hard  but the morning! The morning and the open silence and sense of peace was nothing short of sacred. I remember seeing one sole, white prickly poppy growing close to our camp. Of course it had a few dried seedpods :awesomenod: got em going two years later, not much came of them. But i did get one single bloom :strokebeard:

Cool pine, looking forward to seeing what the haul looks like:super:

Glad you made it back safely.

That sounds like a good time. Would love to do a similar drive one day.

I'll upload some pictures from the trip when I put them on the computer and I'll take some pictures of some of the plants sometime.

I love Saguaro. Walking among the giants. They were sporting crowns of ripe purple fruit. The ground was littered with fruit skins from the ones already devoured by critters.

Joshua tree has an area that is by far the most dense/abundant population of Cholla cacti that I have ever seen and probably ever will see. It was a sea of golden thorns. Not a place I would wanna parachute into.
