NZ Inocybe?
    #25309215 - 07/05/18 03:28 AM (5 years, 7 months ago)

Found growing in native bush in the upper South Island.

This appears to be an Inocybe species. No obvious bluing although I didn't beat it up. To dry for a spore print. Could someone id please possibly inski or Alan, thanks.

I think it's Psathyrella echinata. It used to be in the Psilocybe genus.

Possibly, I can see the similarity although most of the photos I have found of Psathyrella echinata show a red brown cap and brown gills.

It's definitely Inocybe, to id to species some microscopy would need to be done.

You're welcome Bagels and yes it's quite a nicely ornamented one with the prominent recurved squamules at the disc, many species in the genus are rather drab.
This season I found the most beautiful Inocybe I've ever seen, maybe I'll post an image sometime.
