Quick Question

Hi, I am new here. I posted yesterday introducing myself to the group. I inoculated 3x 1/2 pound spawn bags of BRF as well as 2X one pound bags of sterilized Rye Berries. This was on the 22nd. I checked on the bags after work today, and the BRF bags are showing pretty heavy Myc. Growth already, and the rye berries are showing none at all. I felt as if this was early to see growth at all, but the BRF seems to really be taking off. Is this normal? I injected with spores 4 days ago, strain is Cubes GT. Thanks for the help guys.

You should expect to see mycelium spreading at the inoculation point in less than 4 days. What is the room temperature where your projects are colonizing?

No. 4 days is pretty quick for germination actually. It can take up to a month or so depending on the age of the spores and if they feel like germinating or not. And if it's "heavy" growth, it's likely a contam.
A half-pound BRF block, however, sounds like a recipe for a stalled cake. The inside of that is gonna go bacterial way before it colonizes.
I can't tell anything from those pics.

It looks like myc to me. You should squish those bags up really good, get the myc thats in there all over the uncolonized BRF. It would be like a modified Eatyualive's lazy mofo bag tek. It may be a little bacterial in the end, but you'll get fruits.
If you squish it all up and mix it together, it will be completely colonized within a full work week, give or take a day or two.
Good luck.

WTF is with kids thinking that bacterial spawn is OK? If it's contaminated throw it out. You'll never get good if you don't have high standards.

I got a quarter pound of dried mushies on my first bulk with Eatyu's lazy mofo bag tek with BRF. It was exceptionally easy, and I have no real way to say they were or were not bacterial. Two of the shoeboxes didn't grow properly. The other 12 did just fine, and I, as a newbie, was perfectly happy with what I got.

I Am interested in learning how to do this the proper way. I don’t care about short cuts and stuff yet, I want to learn how to do this process the right way before applying any short cuts

Better get some cows and land: don't feed them fungicidal feed, and hope for the best!

Hey I have one BRF bag that has a lot of mycelium on top but has not shown any growth in several days, is there anything I should do? Or just leave it alone?

How's the gas exchange set up? It may be too wet, or to dry (less likely) I'd watch it a day or 2

I'd say it's this.

I'd also squish it up, like I said earlier, and if it recovers well, you're golden. If it doesn't, (or if the gas exchange is not blocked) then call it contaminated

So just kinda break it up through the bag? It is ok to squeeze the myc?
