Dude, this post is all about the "ego" and what not, but most of the people talking in this thread area all making statements that come out of your ego, bubble world and personal fear. Not trying to be a judge or anything but do you guys not realize that's what you're doing? I keep seeing people making statements that they think is fact when it's just a personal thing that has to do with belief, which has to do with the ego. I think the real "ego" thing is simply awareness in the service of fear, and misinterpreting what you think, feel, have experienced and believe to be the actual truth and anyone who disagrees with you is wrong and needs to listen to you. That's really what the ego thing is, and it seems a lot of people in here are doing just that haha. I don't know, not picking on anyone in particular, but maybe doing psychedelics too much in combination with thinking it alone will give you real growth or "enlightenment lessons" is making people think they are more grown and know more than they really do? Especially if doing these drugs has made you think this world is so bad and negative, that's all just awareness in the service of fear, there's every reason for the world to be the way it is so free will can be practiced, we can get feedback for our fear, and know when to change ourselves. It's not about judging the outside world. Just a thought. People are talking about this whole ego thing when most of you are coming from a completely one-sided, belief-based viewpoint. Just saying. I just thought this viewpoint is useful. Don't think psychedelics will replace a lifetime of courage, meditating, being honest with yourself about your beliefs and fears, and actually growing and becoming better and more loving, because it can distract you if you do it too often and think it will actually teach you anything just by ingesting a drug that gives you an instant experience, even if it is really positive. I guess I am saying it's not good to over romanticize these drugs, but to recognize them for what they really are.

My experience with LSD was that it mimicked meditative states, and did not produce the actual states of awareness that true meditation does.
Mushrooms seem kind of alien and foreign to me, as if they elicit states of being parallel to meditation but not quite the same...
But then again these are just my personal experiences, I'm sure it's different for everyone.

this is simply meditation my friend :smile: it can be done without drugs but really getting to expanded states takes time and practice, and especially commitment. Although, if you want to instantly get it handed right to you, you can take mushrooms or LSD and get there to see what it's like! It all has to do with the meditation thing.
