I tried it and got pins but fruits didn't mature, but that may have been my fault as well.

Trying again now with p. tropicalis. Few small trays and a little patch near the garden.
The patch is just BK from the bag and a bit of straw. The BK for the trays was pasteurized this time.
My last fails, also dont think was all kows fault.
Everything looked, smelled, and felt great when mixing it all together today, so maybe theres something to post back with.

Has anyone tried this with generic store bought cow manure as apposed to this specific brand? I'm doing it outdoors but it doesn't really count.

Yes Black Kow is a GREAT substrate and pre-sterilized is a HUGE plus because you can literally go to bulk right out of the bag. They have it at Home Depot for $5.65 for a 50lb bag and yields from it are great! I do a 70/30 mix of B.K. & Verm and anyone that says it wont or doesn't work OBVIOUSLY has NOT tried it before because its cheaper, easier, and produces better yields than any Coir/Verm tubs I have ever ran. I have experimented with other mixes as well but the best so far has just been the B.K. & Verm 70/30 with a 1/4" "Casing" layer of coir. If you haven't tried it, try it. You WILL be happy.

Black Kow has arrived at the local big box stores, sourced from FL. I’ve read through this thread and didn’t really catch on to field capacity. Open the bag and throw in some verm? Any success with P cyan grows, still pasteurize just because?
