Yes, you need to shake your master jar to break up the grain. All of your receiving jars should be shaken very well before the transfer, as well as after the transfer.

Shake the receiving jars before? Why is that?

They should not be shaken before, that's nonsense.

If you take your jars straight from the PC after they are cool there is a good chance you have a large mass of grain all stuck together. Therefore you should shake them before to get them all broken up.

I think if you washed your grains well, this will not be a problem at all.

I wash mine very well, i just can't seem to find any with out corn. I also get a lot of busted grains, prob from the heat being too high. I've found shaking them as soon as they are cool is best.

Idk if that's a tam or not legend but you did right by transferring away from that spot, imo. Your next couple transfers should start looking more uniform.

Yeah I don’t understand what happened though and now that I think about it I shouldn’t have transferred from 1:00 because that’s near the weird shit.
Here’s some more nice rhizo on wbs from agar

Ehem.. Rinsing off the grain is one thing. Required for wbs. Not for oats. They need to be dry enough. A shake during the cooling process ensures that there will not be clumps. Any extra rinsing is removing good stuff that the shrooms dig. Dump em out of the pot when still hot right into your screen or whatever. Make sure they are dry enough and load em up.
