Thanks man, it was one of my favorite jars. I hardly get any fruits from these, but I'm trying to fruit right from the jar and see what happens with the one your talking about. Wow, photo of the day would be a cool honor, who picks the photo? I have some grain prepped for cubes, but my master jar isnt so masterful, so I'm back to cleaning up some old plates and doing some fresh transfers. I was just thinking I should keep my stones going and do a g2g with my atl7 . I was thinking my wbs might go to waste, but I gots me some philosophy to spread still.lol

Shomann said: Yeah mullugh, there some funk goin' on up in there for sure. There is a stone or so, but the mycelium, even on the side of the jar is thick and matted.. this isn't good. Mexicanae mycelium doesn't do this in my experience, and you've also got a bit of black on the top inside.
I personally wouldn't put those stones in my mouth. Sorry man, better luck next time.
How did you go about innoculating this?
Correct...failed the sniff test, smelled like feet/shit. Have lost two jars to the same bacteria and buried them in a shaded part of the garden with a bit of straw and manure.
It's turning into a graveyard as there is now tamps, cubes and atl all buried together.

I put a galindoi spore syringe to agar on the 21st and I finally have 1/3 plates showing something even though that something isn't the most encouraging growth I've ever seen. Seems like most spores I've started look all weird for a while though, maybe too cold.

I have a tamp shoebox that fully colonized, I cased it 4-5 days ago and the casing seems fully colonized.
Right now I have it in my greenhouse with the lid on. My plan was to let pins form, then take the top off once they grow a little. Would I be better off taking the lid off now and letting it have more FAE?
It isn't the most dialed in greenhouse by the grow room has nice ambient humidity and I can grow nice Lion's mane clusters, so I am hopefully that it is sufficient enough for some prints. I'm dying to make and giveaway some stone producer prints

Oh boy! I get excited when you say you are giving away prints. Your prints are the best! Weee! I got a Galindoi print from someone and so far have zero germination. Nothing on agar, nothing in pf jars. Real pretty print too...

I think you'd be better taking the lid off for more fae, now, and they'll do just fine. Normally tampanensis is a fruiting machine when given a lot of fresh air.
Sometimes, if I grow them in a tub, I'll even raise them off the ground of the tub close to the top for more fresh air, and they seem to love it.

Just received a tampanensis print courtesy of MycoColorado so I’m gonna be joining in on the fun. Pouring another batch of plates on Wednesday.

Bout to pull a couple of the “larger” stones and attempt to clone them, first timer. Then gonna spawn the grains to a bulk sub of equal parts manure/coir/verm and some gypsum. Just attempting to get some decent clones of both a stone producer and fruiter.
This was inoculated with a wedge of Galindoi/ATL7

Same here but from a syringe, I thought I might have had some funky growth but turned out to be yeast lol
Seems like it's a common thing, I remember water being an issue but I'm also thinking they might need higher temps than cubes to germinate?

What kind of issues are you guys having? Actually germinating it or dirty prints?
They don't need higher temps. Mine germinated around 68°F in under a week.

With syringes that I can't get good growth from on agar, I put it to Josex's brf puck and then transfer from that to a dish.

For reference higher temps to me means 68F lol. Cubes germinated for me at like 60.
Mine haven't germinated x3 from a syringe I started on the 21st. I saw the puck thread, might try grain first since I have 40 lbs of that but no brf
