 Youtube videos come up unavailable.

I’m not sure if this is just on my end or if others are noticing but a good deal of youtube videos come up as unavailable. They used to play onsite, then some would make you jump over to youtube, and now some are just flat out unavailable.
Anyone else noticing this? Something youtube has recently implemented? My settings?

For real??? Nobody has any clue? Come on Ythan, you verified random files that let me open up my 3DS, which worked wonderfully..
Nobody has a hypothesis as to why this is JUST RECENTLY becoming a COMMON problem?

Looks like all the videos that wouldn't allow embedded playback due to copyright. So I would say it's a YouTube thing. They used to direct you to the website, at least. There goes the What are you listening to right now? thread. It was already annoying to use, now it's impossible.

Some videos are restricted due to copyright or location, but they should show a more informative error message. If it just says "video unavailable", it's likely because your browser isn't sending a referrer request header to Youtube. If you've customized your browser's privacy settings or enabled any kind of tracking protection feature, it may interfere with viewing Youtube videos which are embedded on other sites.
In your particular case it looks like you're using Mobile Safari? Please double-check if you have the "Prevent Cross-Site Tracking" setting enabled. If you do, that's the cause of your problem, and you will have to decide if the additional privacy is worth the loss of functionality.

I do use Safari, both the mobile and Mac versions, but I don’t tweak the settings that much. Disabling the tracking didn’t seem to work for me, on the mobile one at least. I closed Safari, even restarted the device just in case.
I even booted Ubuntu from a USB stick and tried using Firefox, just to see. Same exact thing...

They don't work in firefox on debian 8. I use google chrome and they play fine.

I think I figured out the problem, it was only affecting people who had the "auto-play Flash" option enabled. I believe it should be fixed now.

The mobile Safari doesn’t work for me, either way. But I went back to that desktop Firefox and now it works, whether enabled or disabled.

Tried different browsers available to me with autoplay on and off. Wonder what the deal with Safari is, all of a sudden:

I notice a couple of videos are blocked due to copyright/ownership rules. Thats likely the issue.
