Have you ever noticed that the sides/corners dont bead up with moisture like the middle does? And yea im curious how thats gonna work out. If Sivarted's theory is right then being so close to the lid would probably cause the surface to dry out a lot more.

Also, ive noticed that my shoeboxes have a TON of condensation on their lids. There are droplets pretty much on every inch of the lid. Have you ever experienced this? And if so, do you wipe it off or just leave it be?

I have noticed the same thing on my first grow, like you can see on that pic.

What iv done is using the lid to cover the part of the sub i dont wanna mist with it, and mist over the uncovered area. Like this.

Someone called it micromanaging , but it work if you want it perfect

I also have tons of condensation on the lids, what i do is being carefull when removing it to not make them drip on the sub, and i just shake it to the ground to remove the excess.

I've had better luck with more sub and 2 quarts of spawn in a shoebox vs less spawn and sub and more shoebox's to deal with. That's just too much work for me.

It can be as less work as you want it to be. You don't have to spawn all your jars at once. Spawn however much you want, and save the rest till you're ready. That's the beauty of low spawn to me- you can still achieve high yield while extending your supply of spawn out farther.

What are your typical yields with using 1/2 quart of spawn?

Unless I'm wrong it's another name for a top layer.

At spawn I just add a layer of the coir left in the bucket with some berm mixed in as a top layer

Quick question... If I'm stacking 6qt sterlite shoeboxes (2 high), will there be enough GE? I'm afraid there won't with the weight of them on each other or am I wrong? If so, what's the best way to stack?
Thank you!

I totally forgot this 2nd flush shoebox.:facepalm3:
For some reason I had stacked a case of jars on top of it and slid it under the desk. :blazed:

Probably very low light and not so great FAE,that along with I never re-hydrated,I think I blew this 2nd flush.

Shoeboxes are great. I just harvested this which I started from a G2G transfer. No fanning, no misting, I didnt even dub this bin.

I've been reading through this thread and it has been awesome. I am total noob to anything growing or DIY but I've made my way through one SGFC grow with some level of success (ie There was a flush) now I've been trying to go into shoeboxes and I love setting them up and having them but I've already lost two to green mold and my main one which I started on 06/15 has stalled after shooting out just a few pins, I had seen some green in there but before I could scoop it out it pretty much disappeared. The picture below shoes my current status, I actually had more mycelium coverage but it has all disappeared.

Should I toss this and start over? Also, what are those few fruits saying? To much air? Not enough moisture?

HEre is a pic of my other box going as well

Thanks for all the awesome info.
