First bulk unmodified mono with clone

Hey all, so I've got 6 qts colonized with a B+ clone I grew in agar.
I Was reading a post from Frank, about doing a quick soak of the colonized grain just before spawning to your sub/tub. Like other things, teks can change, proving a benefit or detriment. I'm checking to see if this is a good practice? Idk, may be an older thread/tek that more recent studies have disproved. It sounded great on the other thread and other things I've read from Frank, he's def got his shit together for sure, obviously does. But im looking for a general concensus with this tek. I want the best I can get from this tub, but would be crushed if I hosed it by doing something that turned out to be risky.
Also have my first B+ MS bulk mono in 1st flush now. Looks like it could be a winner.

From what I've read on this site soaking your grain is an out dated practice. You'll lose mycelium in the soak water that would otherwise go tword colonizing your coir. Plus it's rather unnecessary since your tub will have plenty of moisture if your coir has good field compassity. All that being said I'm a total noob and this is just what I've read.

It's not risky at all. Just strain and let it drip for a minute. Then spawn as normal. If ur coirs moisture is already high, soaking spawn could make it worse. But I've done it with good results. I like a top layer of coir too

Best thing to do in this hobby is find the simplest way to the desired result. I use wbs and coir cuz it's cheap, easy and fast and pumps out serious amounts of mushrooms. My advice is to do things simple and work on perfecting it.

Thanks for the advice peeps! I don't have two tubs and I have a MS tub fruiting now so I opted soak them all and spawned to CVG, with a thin casing at spawning. I figured in the end it only makes sense to soak them as we usually soak other grow types like PF tek...... More pics to come!

Thanks ElasticalTiger and Bod for your replies, thats what I love about this hobby, seems there is as much belief as there is science in what people do. Two well respected TCs, (and other TCs) that have different beliefs/methods. Yet to be a TC you had to have proven yourselves and I'm sure that involves a certain amount of scientific process to get the amazing grows that they do. So far the unmodified tub with dunked grains is going strong! Colonizing well and breaking through the casing layer too. I was nervous about it when I drained the jars, as the water was a bit cloudy and I could see mycilium in the water. But from what I'm seeing in the tub now, it doesn't appear to have harmed it much, if at all. Ill be doing side by side comparisons on future grows to have a better idea of what works best for me.
Thanks to the other replies as well, I would have done a side by side this time but wasn't equipped to do so this time around. I can make a half assed comparison with the undunked tub I have flushing now, but it's only 4 jars and a MS grow, the dunked grow is a clone and 6 jars. So yeah, not a very good side by side but it'll tell me something I'm sure. Oh yeah, 418 gms wet so far and still finishing its 1st flush. Plenty more to go!
