The stems on the first picture do not appear black but the stem on the mushroom in the other pictures looks black. Did the stem turn black after you picked it or are these each different mushrooms? Also, the cap color and texture on the third picture seems different from the first picture and the mushrooms in the first picture do not appear to be growing from a stump. Is the first picture a different mushroom then the one you picked? A lot of species of poly-pores can have very different cap colors from specimen to specimen so this isn't really what makes me think they're different mushrooms. It's mostly the stem color and the fact that the mushroom in the third pictures seems to have a much smoother cap than in the first picture although the picture is kind of blurry so I may be mistaken. Also what kind of stump? Conifer or Hardwood? The mushroom in the first picture appears to be growing terrestrially but I may be mistaken on that also.

I agree, fits the description of Polyporus Sp. to the best of my knowledge.

The mushroom in the first picture is a different one from the three following pictures.I thought it may have been the same species.
The one in the first picture was growing terrestrially and the one from the following three pics was growing from a tree stump, although I am not sure of which kind..

They are all the same, one is older than the other.

I'm thinking Polyporus radicatus/P. Melanopus as possibilities.

So does the black above ground portion of the stem, as in P. Melanopus, only develop as the mushroom reaches maturity?

The fact that the first pic appears to be growing terrestrially (but almost definitely growing from roots under the ground) and the other was definitely growing from a stump makes me think these may still potentially be two different species. I know that Polyporus radicatus generally appears to grow terrestrially but actually grows from roots under the ground and has a black root like stem underground but the above-ground part of the stem doesn't blacken. And I know that P melanopus generally grows from stumps/dead wood and not generally appearing to grow terrestrially and has a black stem above ground. But it seems possible that P. Melanopus could sometimes appear to be growing terrestrially from roots underground as in P. radicatus. That's why I was wondering if you knew at what point in the life cycle of P. Melanopus that the black above ground portion of the stem appears. Because if this is present even at a young age I would be inclined to say that these are probably different species. If not they're probably both P. Melanopus as far as I can tell. Or something similar, I know there are a few other central stemmed polypores that develop stems that are black above ground.
